Problem is with the resistance for transparency. Tax file number should be mandatory for all citizens. All bank acvounts should be linked to a tax file number. Maintaning databeses are so easy today. But the government hate it. because it will become very difficult to hide curruption.

2 things.. 1 thing along with all the loss in GDP and all that another thing we are losing that goes unnoticed is the people.. I left the corporate world around 7 years ago... while I keep in contact with my friends I don't really follow the bank anymore.. last week I met up with some of the bank friends cos one guy who is older than me is leaving the NZ.. it was a crowd of 6. of those 2 are retired one is closing on retiring and then the 3 of us.. apart from me both others are in the process of relocating.. and when you hear them speak it's quite obvious that around 80% of their friends circles in the bank are also in the process of leaving.. (funnily enough these guys were hard core Gota fans who call them selves patriots) 🤣🤣 2. yead with the right leadership we can get this country to a very stable place with the right moves and right leaders.. however as I always say leaders are chosen by people.. and even if Lee KY came back from the dead and by some miracle our people vote him as the leader of SL the people at least for 5 years will have to make sacrifices like taxes and utility price increases due to the mistakes done by previous governments.. so the people have to be wise enough to understand this and be ok with this...
