"It was a movie, and that's about the best thing we can say about it." EXCUSE. YOU. The Mummy with Brendan Frasier is a cult classic for good reason. It has action, comedy, camp, thrills, archeology, a bit of horror, and it's special effects hold up 22 years after it came out. Bonus points to Evie's character for not being the typical damsel in distress. It's a perfect fun movie.

What?! Are you saying that the real Cleopatra looked nothing like Elizabeth Taylor?!? Blasphemy!!! 😆😆😉 But, yeah, historically, to my understanding, Cleopatra's beauty derived more from her position of power rather than her physical appearance; not to mention the extravagant attire she typically wore to glamorize herself.

@Giovanni Balbosa-Mc Intosh uuum yea what gave people that wrong idea? HOLLYWOOD ! Particularly Elizabeth Taylor's portrayal of her. Yeah, you lost me when you insulted The Mummy with Brendan Fraser. It may not be one of history’s greatest films of all time but it ranks pretty high on my list of enjoyable films, especially around summertime and Halloween. The old one is fun but kind of dull. I don’t know what movie you’re thinking of, maybe the sequel or the Tom Cruise movie, but the one you just insulted was a freaking fun movie to watch and I think I’ll pass on the rest of the video. Yeah, it’s just a movie, people are entitled to their opinions... but the narrator’s oily and sarcastic voice already rubs me the wrong way. He’s got one of those voices that makes you wonder if there’s anything he actually does like.

Kamose may have died in battle but Ahhotep still had the child Ahmose. She continued the battle with the Hyksos keeping them bottled up in the delta until her final son was old enough to finish the war his father started. The mother of the New Kingdom and 18th Dynasty deserves way more praise than she gets.

Even though I usually irk when films are not being authentic, this one was never meant to be a historical accurate portrayal of Imhotep. It was one of my favourite films during childhood and adolescent years. I still love it, though I recognise the problems with accuracy the film has, but it was very ahead of its time and essentially an adventure film to enjoy (like Indiana Jones, who is not very accurate either). The first two films are amazing and Evie's character was an inspiration for many young girls.

Loved the 1999 movie & liked the info here (except the negative talk of movie - to me the movie stands as itself, and real Imonotep was his own self ... 2 different things; fine with me - Movie , & then actual fact). Iam also super interested in Hatshepsut (came to throne of Egypt about 1478 BC) ... she certainly seemed to accomplish some amazing things, but caused quite a stir too! Wish there was a movie of her (even if its 'Hollywood-ed', as happens) ...

Finally, someone who doesnt suck up to The Mummy 1999 because it’s “childhood memory” just because it’s nostalgic doesn’t mean it’s a good movie.

South Africa represent! I remember Arnold in the movie "boetie gaan border toe' (brother goes to the border) in the 80s where he plays a young South African soldier fighting in Angola/Namibia . Comedy, was fun.

Aye, represent! I also remember him in that one moment in Funny People, where he was bowing.
