What is this? A speech language pathologist works on mental age, cognitive development, imitation and a lot more! It's not just Speech, but Language too that an ASLP course has and what is practised. Please learn what an SLP does. You clearly don't know.

To all Speech pathologists commenting on sutle technical bits of SLP, please try to understand her goal is to simplify things for parents like me. We don't understand or know too much about language , speech technical terms and we don't want to be expert in that. We want simple things like this channel that we can learn and do on own rather than paying huge fees to professional who have made goal of life to milk Autism parents. The way you all are coming and commenting together seems to be like plannned things how IT cells of political parties work. How many of you are doing free service that is simple Hindi explanation like her? If something is not fully technically correct as per your books, why don't you create own KZbin channel and explain in simple language. Best is you leave Maninder channel alone. She is doing great work and is immensely helpful for many parents.

Dear, you are really doing good job with your videos. Your videos may be helping many parents but i suggest that you should read, research and collect all require knowledge before speaking about the any profession. I suggest that you should read about the scope of practice of Speech-Language Pathology. For your imformation I want to convey you that language can be divided into two broad areas (i.e. comprehension and expression) and have five parameters. As a SLP, we work all the areas and parameters of language. We also work on speech, swallowing,vestibular and many other disorders. So, I request you kindly dont mislead the general population as you have many viewers and unfortunately you are misleading them regarding the scope of practice of other professionals. Thanks Speech-Language and Swallow Pathologist

I disagree with some statements you have said about certain other professionals.. A Speech-Language therapist works closely with doctors of all kinds, and deals with individuals having aphasia, intellectual disability, autism and a lot lot more. These all have psychological, neural and cognitive aspects that are affected which an SLP is trained to well work on. Unlike what you said, it is not just about articulation, voice etc and a speech delay can NOT be just be because of of tongue weakness, stiffness etc. Please, if you are not a licensed SLP, refrain from making such bold statements as these on such a platform regarding another profession which is not yours. Thanks!

Hi ,Im in the field of speech language pathology and audiology from past 10 years ,I think you should go for a background search regarding this. SLPs , assess, diagnose, and treat speech ,language ,social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults and much more. So I don't think you can just make a statement like speech therapist works on speech only ...please refer either isha (indian speech and hearing website ) or asha( American speech and hearing website) to know more about the profession. this is not to offend you or anything your videos are informative ,but please do check on it.

Hello my dear 3 of u speech and language pathologist,I think u didn't understand my videos well my aim is to just aware the parents that in case of developmental delays u need to work on number of learner skills not only on speech. That's it,I don't know where u all are going.
@lekshmiv2145
@lekshmiv2145 3 жыл бұрын
You cant just pass on wrong information in the name of so called awareness ...Again am telling speech therapist is not restricted to speech only ...1.59 to 2.01 you mentioned speech therapist just work with speech ,see we ppl work with so many other areas as in comprehension prerequisites and so on .so that statement is misleading that s what I mentioned .. And what do you mean by where you all are going? You cant simply mention and misguide about any profession without knowing much about it Humble request it is!!

Hi mam A speech therapist not only deals with correction of speech as you have mentioned here but also works on enhancing the Language part ( Reception and Expression) for kids with Delayed speech and language and ASD. Hence speech therapist is also known as 'Speech Language Pathologist'. Its a misunderstanding that a speech therapist works only on improving the speech skills. It is just one part of communication. First a thorough assessment of child is done and based on this a qualified SLP decides what areas to work on, speech, language or both. Also SLP works on the prelinguisic skills like eye contact, attention span, imitation skills which is all prerequisite for speech and language development. Hence pls don't provide wrong information without being sure about all the areas on which SLP provides intervention. Consult a qualified speech language pathologist without being mislead by any wrong information.
