IMM 5533 - Document Checklist, Supporting Documents, Photos, Letters - Inland Spousal Sponsorship

Here's how to fill out the IMM 5533.
In my case, it's specific for an inland spousal sponsorship, but these steps may be applicable for other applications also.

Information about Previous Examination (to be completed by Sponsor)
This depends on if you were already married while your spouse got their PR. Since in my case, I was not, I selected “No”. For an Inland Application, the PA is already in the country, meaning they already have a visa, and so the answer should be “No”
Part B, Supporting Documents for Sponsor #5
If you are not working in Canada, provide other documentation showing you can support the person(s) you are sponsoring.
For this - Upload your bank statements with a substantial balance. There is no guidance on the substantial balance, but you can refer to this link for an estimation. - www.canada.ca/en/immigration-...
Also include a letter of explanation on how you will support yourself and the sponsored person(s).

Hi, I have question about 4. Financial Evaluation. You left it as blank, but did you need to write N/A or just leave as blank? Many of video or website （it's kinda old info, like at least 2yr）says write 'N/A not applicable' and actually their documents specify write N/A if it not applicable, but our checklist documents doesn't say any. i'm confused.

Hi. I left it blank, did not check the box. There is no text box in that section to write “N/A”. Right at the top of the document checklist - it says “As you work through the steps, check for each applicable item” So if you do not check something that’s not applicable, it should be ok.

Hi Ryan, just double checking on something. I (sponsor) will be filing an inland application for my wife (PA). We have been living together since Sept 2022. Considering that both sponsor and PA are living together, we are not required to submit proof of contact like whatsapp chats from the time we were dating to present right? The answer to this should be fairly obvious judging by this form itself but we've been told by a couple of immigration consultants that we do need to provide whatsapp chats so we are a bit confused on that front

@@hmak2104 hi. No you don’t have to provide chats for inland application. I did not, neither did my friend who recently submitted his. You have to provide photos from social media, official ceremonies, etc. For most cases it should be simple enough to submit your application yourself, I’d say save your $$$ if you need to.

Hi Ryan, Thank you for the detailed information. It is really helping us for our PR application. we really appreciate your effort. I have a quick question, for Police clearance certificate, what should be the marital status- Single or married? because if we choose "married" then it would be additional documentation and long process to put spouse name on India passport.

Hey, glad you're finding it helpful! So we got married in BC, Canada. My wife did NOT put my name on her Indian passport, and I chose "married" for PCC. So as far as I know, that is NOT required. 👍

Hey, my situation is same and these videos are really helpful. I have one question about medical. The ircc website said that if you gave medical before coming to Canada and is still valid ( less than 5 years ) just upload it with the application. So do I need to? I know you typed N/A under that. Thank you

@@amandeepgill6130 hi, Thank you! I did NOT upload it. Since it’s an inland application it’s probably assumed you’ve been in Canada itself for quite sometime. I think you only have to upload it if you’ve spent more than 6 months outside Canada in some certain countries, after the first medical test. After I set up the application tracker, the date till which the medical test was valid, automatically appeared on there.

Under which category did you submit driving license and phone bills etc. what will be the naming category for these, cause we already used proof of relationship to sponsor for rental agreements?

Is there any possibility that i can submit my PR application without uploading police clearance certificate or can i upload it later !? I got next month appointment for pcc and it will take another 8 weeks to get it. my work permit will expired in October 2024. So, i am confused what should I do now. Can you please guide me. Hi! I'm glad you're finding the videos helpful! I do not know the answer to your question. If you can, then maybe also provide an explanation, up to you. My advice would be to not wait for your appointment date, just walk in. I went early morning, waited for BLS to open. There were 5-6 people ahead of me already. Also, it took just 4 weeks for my PCC to arrive by mail. All the best!
