@@michaeldecker3480 you can find the Metallica concert in Russia, Monsters of Rock I believe it was called in the early 90's. Their bass player was windmilling. I helped local bands in the 80's. It was a term used frequently when someone started whipping their long hair around. Plus I heard the term used in the late 70's before the hair bands became popular in the 80's.

I understand the point you were making - there is a presumption that metal music is brutal or gorey or macho or very dark but it really doesn't have to be. Metal has so many subgenres that if one doesn't suit, you might enjoy another. Storytime is about the awesome power of human imagination - there is nothing gross or upsetting here. Symphonic metal is probably the most approachable subgenre and there are a lot of really good, really experienced bands who do this - Within Temptation, Epica (a bit heavier), Kamelot are all examples of bands who are accessible. Floor's windmills have slowed down a bit of late - but then she is pregnant! You'll notice when she headbangs/windmills she tends to have her hands on her hips or thighs to stabilise herself, and she can do it for a very long time with no adverse effects (In a song "Seven Days to the Wolves" filmed at Wembley she windmills for about 45 seconds).

Story Time was not written to Floor but she performed this song great at Wacken town 2013. And those drums Jukka is there playing and expressing his style, I love that.

Imaginaerum, with Annette, is a stupendous album, but live, Floor just wrings the necks of those tracks. Very credible first windmilling attempts ladies! My 69 year old body is never ever going to attempt that. According to the sadly defunct Nightwish forum, Floor asked for headbanging advice from a physical therapist, and her current stance with her hands on her thighs stabilizing her lower body is what they came up with.

I have seen Nightwish live 4 times. They are awesome live! They have a different drummer now and their bass player/backing vocalist Marko, left the band during the pandemic. I still Love them and can't wait to see them again. Floor is in late stages of pregnancy right now so it may be a year or two before they come back to the U.S., but i will be there when they do. This song is from their Imaginaerium album, a concept album base on an old composer on his death bed relieving the memories of his life. One of Tuomas's favorite topics or themes in his music is lost innocence. As a poet and artist Tuomas values the sense of wonder and imagination that innocent children have. In Storytime the composer is remembering the joy he got from childhood tales, thus the references to Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland (Tuomas often uses literary references in his lyrics and as inspiration for songs). It is through these childhood stories that we discover ourselves and who we are (I am the story that will read you real). Song is inspired by a popular British Christmas movie The Snowman. Storytime" was born when Tuomas wondered why no-one had made a remake of the film, and pondered on what his version of the score to the scene in which "Walking in the Air" plays would sound like. Tuomas ""How would it feel to take a midnight flight with a snowman through the most wondrous landscapes, like in the classic animated Yuletide film? The meaning of our very existence is created though stories, tales and imagination. They are at the very core of humanity." Walking on the Air is a very popular Christmas song in the UK and Finland and Nightwish did a beautiful cover of it with their first singer Tarja that is worth reacting to.
