A friend of mine on R1 had his Green Card Application rejected for unavailability of visa for his priority date. In the meantime, his R1 would expire in May 2024. He has an underlying medical issue, and the treatment is still ongoing. Can he be given a preferential treatment for health reasons?

Dear jacob I have been a U.S. Permanent resident since Dec. 2016. Living in Bay area Ca. I applied for my wife's resident ship in Jan 5, 2017. Our case has been in documentary complete status at NVC since Oct.28 2021. We have made inquirys every 3-4 months. We haven't received our interview appointment yet. Can you please coment on this. It seems very strange to us.

Hi I am Pakistan National but I’m residing in Kuwait. My sister applied for an i-130 for me and the case was submitted on Dec 13th, 2016. If we check for the processing times for the California Service Center, it used to show 86.7 months a few months back and now it shows 46.5 months. I have submitted an inquiry request to ask them how long more will it take. What should be my next step? How long should I expect it to take?

USCIS denoed immigration for my wife for Birth Certificate, I have filed to open the case and they did..How long it will take A copy of the applicant's long-form birth certificate or other primary birth record issued by the appropriate civil authority or acceptable secondary evidence of the applicant's birth and an original written statement on government letterhead stating the reason that the applicant's birth record does not exist. Any foreign language documents must be accompanied by a complete English translation. You have not established that you are eligible for adjustment under INA 245. Therefore, USCIS must deny your Form I-485. See 8 CFR, sections 103.2(b)(11) and (12

While a 1994 priority date is very old (potentially good news), contact NVC to clarify the situation. They can advise about your nephew and niece's absence for the interview.

Hi I filled for asalym in 2013 and my case went to BIA after the immigration judge denied it. Now i got married last year and i widraw my asalym case from th BIA, i filled for adjustment of statut and got the advance parole and work permit, on November 2023, my i-485 and 130 still pending, i want to know if it is safe to travel back home with the i-131 through mariage.
