"Come What May" I remain the victim Of this sorry state This path I've chosen Will be the death of me Darkness rising The devil is near For better or for worse Come what may I can't live one more day At the mercy of my own dismay Uncover the masque Into the black As god is my witness No hope for the hopeless Shrouded in darkness The pain that is endless In our affliction This is a prison This is a prison It's the undertow Coming back for me It's the undertow Coming back for me For better or for worse Come what may I can't live one more day At the mercy of my own dismay For better or for worse Come what may I can't live one more day At the mercy of my own dismay For better or for worse Come what may I can't live one more day At the mercy of my own dismay

Fuck OFF… this song (hell, the entire album), has NO business being THIS good.. I just experienced the same out of body feeling when the violin hit, as I did when I first heard the AOGHAU album by Architects. And I’m not even done the album yet… this is truly something special..

It seems that Eddie was gesticulating very strongly during the recording of this track. Which is definitely excellent and it conveys much more emotions. Especially from the second minute... clearly, as if it drives, like a hammer, straight into the soul. Uuuuu...(I haven’t written comments before, but here... You... I can’t keep up with my feelings and emotions... And I type, and I type.... Imminence, you are an anomaly)🐺

Come what may is such a beautiful phrase that captures letting go. Very relevant to therapy for me right now. Freaking phenomenal album on so many levels. There wasn't a single song that wasn't an absolute banger. Also, "in the reflec--tion" I love the way that's pronounced. I love seeing that side of Eddie's voice. Also the alliteration of "at the mercy of my own disMay" hasn't gone unnoticed :)

“For better or for worse, come what may, I can’t live one more day, at the mercy of my own dismay”. This song to me is about doing what you need to in order to find happiness. For me - after socially isolating myself for one too many years in order to pursue education and career goals I found myself extremely unhappy despite all the success I found. Eventually I said screw it, I’ve achieved enough, I’m doing what makes me happy - playing rugby again after a decade of absence even at the risk of bodily injury. Because - “for better or for worse, come what may, I can’t live one more day, at the mercy of my own dismay”. 🤘. Thanks imminence, this one is special.
