Luna is a strong character and she is hurt so much by what happened with Celesta but they are sisters. Celesta was also hurt by what happened with Luna and Twilight was there. She reminded Celesta so much of Luna and when she had to send her away (just like Luna) she was heartbroken. Celesta loves Luna so much and wanted to help her but her duty as a princess was to protect her people. While Luna and Celesta did nothing wrong they just couldn’t see how much pain, sorrow, hurt, and emotion the other was feeling.

Luna is probably the most relatable character on the show...and that's why so many people love her. A young child in the shadow of their older sibling, who they should be looking up to. Somebody who just wanted to be loved by her Sister at the least. Somebody was an outcast, one that nobody understood. We love Luna because we see ourselves in her...an underdog. A strong fighter, who lost their way. But found it again.

Is it just me or could this song fit either sister? Think about it it fits Luna because of her reasoning of becoming nightmare moon. Jealousy and not really hate but a strong resentment of her sister. But it also fits Celestia because of the fact that SHE was the one to banish her sister to the moon for 1,000 years without knowing if she would ever see her little sister again or if she truly lost her forever.

Another touching MLP piece, I am honestly not for one sister above the other, I think that they are both wonderful characters who if Hasbro wasn't just about making $$$ could have highly developed stories instead of merely filling the powerful immortal leader figure type. I'm thinking that what you might be showing is a few hundred years into Luna's banishment after she's had time to cool her hooves a bit and realize that her anger and jealousy had turned her against the one person who in her own way had truly cared for her. I'm not saying that Celestia wasn't at fault, I think like in so many real life conflicts both parties had a part to play in what happened.
