EVS and the rest of the CG Kings using their platforms to promote the campaigns of small creators are the spiritual successors to Dave Sim. Sim gave up pages in his comic "Cerebus" to preview and promote the work of smaller self-publishers in the 80s and 90s. July will never be in Sim's league.

I like that Ethan tried to give Eric July advice to make his comics better. Eric of course being the way he is, lost his shit. EVS being a veteran and an industry professional should have just left Eric alone and just see what happens, but he made Trashcast. Is Ethan wrong for doing that? Yes. But is trashcast entertaining and funny as hell? Also yes 😂
