Exactly! I'm a guitarist and the lowest I tune to is standard D. You can cover pretty much all ground with that tuning. I hate when bands tune so damn low you can barely make out the riffs, and sounds like rubber bands being played. Heavy is an emotion, not tuning to drop A. I've always hated the feel of it also as a player. If you can't write heavy stuff even in standard E, there's a problem, hahaha.
