What's meant by total serum classic hemolytic complement (CH50)test?

@@DrMaria-d7p this the name of the test. Low levels of total complement (total hemolytic complement: CH50) may occur during infections, disease exacerbation in patients with systemic lupus, low level also indicates low C1, C2 and C4 complements.
