So do you recommend not reading textbooks? I don’t know which one I should study from, videos or reading textbooks. At the same time, I feel like if I referred to only videos, I might miss some details that are only in the textbook. Should I do both? But it’s not like a semester lasts that long, so much to study but so little time 😢
@tomato-v8x3 жыл бұрын
@@imthecoolest50 I would recommend watching videos first to get the general idea & a visual representation of how something works, as textbooks typically describe these topics in further detail. So both. :) I would also recommend reading some research articles as they can provide a different perspective that can not be explained in videos or textbooks. You can do it! The hardest part is staying motivated and being productive.

Biomedical Science student here, from Brazil. It's kinda hopeless but also intriguing to study an immune disorder that you have yourself such as Psoarisis. Luckly, mine isn't that difficult to take care but it do has a stressful routine trying to maintain the inflammation at low knowing that is lifelong. After finishing the graduate degree, probably I'll focus on genetic research; but later, I'll try my best to come up with good results on the immune research/field specially on skin disorders to end this stressful and harsh condition that millions of people suffer off.

@roidroid11 жыл бұрын
This animation was partially funded by Johnson & Johnson, a lot of the products they sell are profitable solely because of general public ignorance about biology, and their industry routinely purpetuates and encourages this public ignorance. Given the funding, i thus worry that this animation may not have scientific accuracy and public education as it's primary endevour. I know it's rude to bring it up, but i think you'll agree it's important. We've ALL seen the appalling misrepresentations cosmetics companies give in their advertisements, we are right to be wary. So, given the possible conflict of interest involved in the funding, can we please have some sort of editorial assurance regarding the accuracy of this video? And please include such editorial assurances in future videos that also have possible conflicts of interest with funding. Thankyou. This video was quite nice.
@NatureVideoChannel11 жыл бұрын
Thank you for pointing out that we could be more clear about the provenance of our content; as always, Nature has full responsibility for all editorial content, including the Immunology in the Skin animation, and we will try to be more explicit about this.

+roidroid True that my friend But its especially evident now that the immune system plays a double edged sword effect with tissue repair and immunity on one hand with persistent pro inflammatory signals and lack of immune resolution on the other I think Johnson and Johnson is looking to aid current research while indirectly advertising their company name. Its good business modeling. It is true that many products are redundant and useless- especially when you look at the antimicrobial industry...kinda makes you suspicious

it does have cientifical base, at least with my knowledge, and this video is helping me with my exams. If you are in this area of study you should that it is spot-on. This video is certainly not destinated to an ignorant general public.

+MMArtist141 +SpiderPig- Man i didn't say i saw any inaccuracies. I'm saying that the Johnson & Johnson company contains a COSMETICS products branch which makes ridiculous non-scientific claims about it's cosmetic products, this taints the overall J&J company name, and thus warrants extra editorial assurances for anything associating itself with that name. ie: does this animation come from the company's ridiculous cosmetics branch, or from it's trustworthy medical branch? It's a very important distinction.
