In an interview about the movie, M. Night said he didn’t like that the firebenders were the only benders who didn’t need a source to bend from, cuz he doesn’t like the bad guys having the advantage because fuck high stakes, am I right? So he made it that they needed fire
@thevoidbender4 жыл бұрын
Which tells me he fundamentally didn’t watch the show or try to understand it at all. Just a little thinking is needed since it’s not stated outright. Why is fire bending shut off during a solar eclipse? We can assume that fire bending is fueled at least partially by the sun or at least sunlight. It would explain why it’s stronger during the day and weaker at night. The moon reflects sunlight to be seen so their source would be weaker and the stars are so far away they’d be little help either. M Night clearly didn’t give a shit and had weak explanations for his decisions because he really didn’t care about the source material.
@bridgettelair3704 жыл бұрын
M. Night is even wrong about that, I mean what about airbending, they don't really need a source either. Truly nothing he did made any sense in this movie.

Fire is also the only element that can appear and dissapear in nature. Firebenders channel the energy from themselves, after all, fire IS energy in its purest form (at least purer than others). The difference between elements and philosophy behind them made the show special. Also, just imagine for a second that firebenders needed a source of fire in the show. it would make them SO WEAK. Any of the other three types could literally snuff out fire and render firebenders completely useless against them.* 1. Yet this hasn't stopped the fire benders from dominating the other benders in this movie, notably the earth benders, so that's a lot of words to say nothing. 2. This or the fire benders could just melt rocks. Or evaporate water. Or even prevent air benders from using their powers by consuming most of the oxygen around them with their flames... *How are the firebenders supposed to even have a chance of winning anything here?* If you'd watched this movie instead of whining because it's not 100% accurate to the show like most of the ATLA fanbase does, you'd notice that the Fire Nation largely dominates thanks to its military power and industrialization. These could be ""slightly"" advantageous elements but just saying. *More amusing questions.* Please make my day. Given the level of your previous comments, no doubt it's going to be fun again. *What about Sozin's comet? Since now you require fire to already be present, Sozin's comet should logically do nothing to make a firbender much stronger, because you are limited by your source.* Firstly why would being limited by the need for a fire source prevent the Comet from increasing their firepower ? Go ahead, I'm curious. Secondly just an idea like that : The Comet could improve their fire bending to the point where they can now generate flames without any source. Bending is literally magic and it doesn't contradict any of the film's internal rules, no problem in this. Don't hesitate to take a seat while you process the information. *What about lightning GENERATION? How is that supposed to fit it with this?* By making this bending the only one that doesn't need a source for example. It's magic, you can find lots of reasons to justify bending lightning not requiring any. It's a bit like the concept of ADAPTATION, you know ? Oh wait a minute, I forgot that this fanbase still have a hard time grasping this concept, my bad.

Momo is not only not named but he is treated like a fly, zero integration in the group just like for Appa (just a horse to travel). Appa Aang's best friend, his treatment is a disgrace towards the series, the creators and all the fans. Katara is just invisible and has zero character or combativeness, such a female character reduced to this parody (Shame, shame). Sokka aka Suck sa, it's just someone else. Suki doesn't exist but seriously Suki doesn't exist. The Lord of Fire, who is as menacing and fearful as the Girl Scouts who sell their coockies door to door. The spirit world "does not exist", previous Avatars like Rokku are just erased. Respecting the martial arts and the philosophy of each Clan would have been one of the first things to do for this film, as well as the successful animated series. The little confrontation that there is in this film, are either inxesistant or miserable and therefore ditto for the control of the elements.
