Kobalt, Craftsman, and Ryobi are all value buys for the DIYer, but more and more they are even being used by the professionals as well. We compared each of them to see how well their impact drivers can drive a 4” long ¼” bolt.

Koblat 24v Impact Driver
The model number used in this video for the Kobalt 24v Impact Driver is the KIP 324B-03, but it is an older model. The newer Kobalt 24v Impact Driver is Model# KID 1324A-03. We have compared the older and newer model and can’t find a difference when it comes to the power/torque it delivers. The newer model can be found online at Lowe’s:

Ryobi 18v Impact Driver Model# P235AK
-Delivers up to 3,200 IPMs
-Up to 1,800 in. lbs. of torque
Overall, all 3 Impact Drivers do the job above, and although in this video above, Kobalt comes out more powerful, I would still recommend Ryobi over Kobalt for two reasons: 1) You can now get the newer Ryobi 18v Impact Driver model with the same power and price as Kobalt 2) Ryobi 18v ONE+ system has way more power tools that are interchangeable with the same battery, so providing more versatility.
We hope you found this video helpful in making your decision. Let us know if you have any questions or the type of experience you have had with either of these 3 Impact Drivers.
Until next time, let’s go out there and get the job done.
