I personally own and use the Komplete Kontrol mnin 32... no pads.. but the keyboard is very nice and that extra range of 7 keys gets you a whole extra octave...

Hi, just found your channel after looking the lx mini up. Would this be a good starter piece of equipment? Im a guitarist, so looking to create solo music myself and need something to start with. Hey, welcome! Impact LX Mini is a great affordable all rounder keyboard. Esp if you are just gonna start out and throw down some chords and melodies. I even used it for a live gig. That said, if you want more intricate keyboard response I would look for a more expensive solution, like the Keystep 37. But as I mentioned, it's all about how much you want to invest and how elaborate playing you want to do. Komplete Kontrol is also very good keybeds. Hope this makes any sense! Cheers, // Matt

@@MattiasHolmgren Thanks for your reply and your time. I had a good look at the keystep 37 per your recommendation. But I love the idea of having the pads integrated with the keyboard. What I would like is more keys though, so was looking at the nektar impact lx49 after researching both controllers. Hoping to make some complete songs with some good atmosphere. Will definitely be looking at your setup vids in the weeks to come! Thanks again.

Thank you, you have narrated everything nicely. my Nektar impact lx mini is not getting recognised by my Bitwig 4.34 version. I am using it on trial it is still valid for 18 days to expire. while attached LX mini it is not recognised by default by Bitwig , I set midi clock 3 ms & midi synch out 9 ms , MTC rate 24 FPS . What other changes are to be done: either in setting with BITWIG DAW OR IN nektar LX MINI PLEASE GUIDE. I BADLY NEED YOUR HELP AS I AM STUCK DUE TO NON SYNCHRONISATION OF IMPACT LX MINI WITH BITWIG DAW.

Step 1: update firmware on the Impact Lx Mini. Step 2: make a factory reset by: hold octave up + octave down while powering on. If its not recognized in Bitwig by now. Contact Nektar support, they have been very helpful. Good luck!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH: As per your advice I could activate the NEKTAR IMPACT LX MINI. Earlier my sound system which has been sourced through Focusrite & ASIO AND SCARLET HEADPHONE has been working nicely. but while NEKTAR IMPACT LX MINI has been activated I lost my sound system. WHILE NEKTAR IMPACT LX MINI ACTIVATED and opened the BITWIG,but no sound was coming., then I tried to ACTIVATE THE AUDIO ENGINE in BITWIG BUT IT NEVER ACTIVATED. While I have DETACHED the NEKTAR IMPACT LX MINI keyboard i got the message that your sound engine has crashed. I immediately sent the crash report to BIGTWIG. PLEASE advise ME why my sound input and output method was not working.

Hmm almost sounds like a USB power issue. What computer are you using? PC I assume? How do you connect the gear, using a usb hub?

Is there any major pro/con between this and the LX25+? I am new to DAW'S but am looking to work with BitWig, and Nektar seems like the brand to go with if I do this. LX25+ is bigger which is fine, but smaller would be kind of nicer if it can be done. Any functionality one may be lacking over the other? I am planning mostly on making video beats for intros and outros and of course maybe playing around making some other mild stuff too.

this looks like a direct market competitor to the Akai mpk mini (mk2 or mk3). how does this compare in build quality, and bitwig integration?? (for context, i have the mpk mini, but i hate it because its made of creaky cheap plastic, and it was very frustrating to get working with bitwig.)

Hey, Impact LX is plastic chassi. But like I mentioned I feel the keybed is quite good, felt even better than some big size midi keyboards. Knobs are not comparable to my huge synths. But it’s definitely possible to create quick music sketches and adjust parameters in thr plugins. I feel the integration is much better for Bitwig than it was controlling Logic Pro. It isn’t nearly as convenient. Bitwig is overall more streamlined for control and usability. Like I mentioned I did use P6 and T4 preciously and Nektar always win when it comes to controlling Bitwig Studio. Hope that helps. ☕️

Hi, I have no idea what could be wrong in your case. Never used it with Pro Tools. But why would you need to make changes? This should appear by default as a midi instrument if you hook up it via USB (midi over usb) to the computer.

have you activated midi clock sync in the DAW? So you are sending the clock from DAW to the LX Mini over midi?

Yes it’s class compliant, just hook it up via usb. Its midi and power over usb.

Hi no I did not notice any issues with the pitch joy. Can you see if the little yellow square light up / appears (at the bottom device panel) on the midi (instrument) track when you move the joy? The yellow dot indicates when there is midi activity.
