Well done bloke. Weld looked like Swiss cheese but she held so job done. Definitely a front gate warranty on that one through.

😁Know what you mean, so far it has held up, but I still hate welding aluminium castings.

Not many folks would take the time or care to fix that. Good to see Bob!

Thanks James, as you probably know yourself, the filming and the editing is where the time goes in this sort of job 👍👍👍.

Congratulations! I really did not think that weld would hold, or that the repair ultimately would be successful! Really good video and a great Repair 🎉

Thanks, I was ready to junk it if it didn't work.

Great video Bob. I have some old DeWalt cordless tools that the batteries have died in. Being NiCad which are pretty weak in today's standard I researched and purchased a battery adaptor and can now run my old DeWalt tools on my modern Milwaukee lithium batteries. Work so much better now too. Cheers👍

11:00 at this point I'm going to bet your labor has exceeded the value of the tool, and it has become a "labor of love".
@whitedoggarage Жыл бұрын
Well, that is always a moot point on videos. The tool is worth three hours labour and the actual repair takes about an hour if I blast through it. However if I video, it takes about four hours plus editing time, so it has become a labour of love 😀

@@whitedoggarage (excluding the video) I had you at about 2 hours here. Regular Labor = maybe, but an experienced aluminum welder? Ya about 30 mins of labor.

6:38 I made this note before watching the end of the video. I want to say that I'm very skeptical. I give you about a 20% chance of success. I'm sorry, but it's an impact wrench, and clearly the crack occurred along an existing fault or stress point of the tool.

So far it has held up, but I keep looking at the Milwalkie replacement with 'want it' eyes 😀

Yes, I cried, Andrew, my casual offsider was not happy too.
