It is now 2020. Four years after this awesome match took place, during a time when Broken Matt Hardy was the greatest gimmick in wrestling! Since then Matt had returned to WWE and eventually became Woken Matt. However, as predicted by many, he was misused in WWE. Now, AEW has risen and Matt is now “All Elite”. It’s been a wild ride for Broken Matt Hardy, and I hope that we get even more of the great stories that we know Matt can tell with this character!

Say what you want about this, but The Final Deletion is easily one of the most entertaining things to come from the wrestling industry in a while. It reminds me a bit of those crazy Attitude Era storylines that were really over the top (Mae Young giving birth to hand, Undertaker sacrificing people). It's remarkable for such original and entertaining content to exist in a business which stays safe and is unwilling to take risks for the betterment of the product. These segments are redefining what sports entertainment is and can evolve into. Instead of pointless backstage appearances by legends, here's a possibility for all who are unable to compete in a ring anymore. For example, I'd be just as excited to see Austin beat someone's ass all over the Broken Skull Ranch as an actual Wrestlmania matchup which could never compare to his earlier work. Austin invading Pillman's home on Raw continues to feel exciting and fresh to this day. What the Hardys/TNA and Lucha Underground have brought to the table may just be what it takes to entice the ever sought after casual fan to watch again. Without question it would revive burnt out wrestling fans who have for years now been vocally begging for. Imagine, if you will, Jim Ross on commentary for Sting vs The Undertaker in a graveyard match or Daniel Bryan vs ANYBODY anywhere.

***** They nearly left me and really deserved it during the Daniel Bryan sloooooow burn 2 year journey to the title only to have to retire. They ruined his last few good years while he was the most popular wrestler in the world since Austin. I haven't trusted them since but with such an amazing roster now and HHH's influence starting to show on Raw and Smackdown, I know it will be in good hands down the road. It also makes me think the torch is already in the midst of being passed from Vince to HHH.
