I changed out the carpet on my 93 Caprice LTZ many years ago. The factory carpet with the rubber backing felt like it weighed about 50 pounds. Put in the new with minimal dynamat. I could hear the road like there was a hole in the floor! You definitely need all of what you did if you take out the stock carpet. If your carpet is good like my 96 SS, you can dye it as long as you brush it in. About a n 8 hour tour to swap from what I remember.
@RubberCityMotoring3 жыл бұрын
Agree. The backing on the aftermarket wasn’t as good, but it still had a backing. Just missing in a few places. The dynamat and insulation seems to help more with ac and heat, maybe a little quieter, but overall it’s a solid upgrade. Plus my kids dirty shoes won’t show as much on the black :)

Jt, I bought a leather care kit from the chemical guys. My seats look almost like new leather now. It cleans a lot of oil and dirt you don’t even realize is there and lightens the color back up quite a bit. I bet if you do the passenger seat and headrest it will make a difference in color.
@RubberCityMotoring6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I’ll give it a shot and see. It’s not too bad now, but if I’m being picky one day I want a little bit better of a match.

Why did you put a switch on your fans cuz I got a 96 and the primary fan quit working I'm trying to figure out what the problem is secondary works as long as you turn on the air conditioner but the other one is getting no power what's the problem do you know

I’d check relays and wiring. I did the fans just to turn them on at my leisure. They work normally as the pcm commands them though.

I have a 96 I bought new in June of that year. Which fans are activated with the switch under the dash? And how much did the redo of your driver seat bottom cost?
@RubberCityMotoring5 жыл бұрын
If you look up "Innovative Wiring" - Gary will make you a harness that turns on the e-fans, which cool the radiator and fluid. The complete seat was redone, bolstering, foam and leather all around. Reach out to "Spotlight Customs" in Akron for current pricing, but it ran me about $700 for all parts/labor.

I have not attempted the rear coat hanger lights. I did the front footwell, door indicator lights, and trunk light in LED. Considering the dome light - not sure I wanna risk breaking the coat hook light fixtures... Thanks for watching!
