Something that has always had an impact with me throughout every episode is probably something that Imp and Skizz don't even realize: that they are a true example of a healthy and thriving friendship. They're honest with each other, love each other, and respect each other so purely... They're fantastic role models to their viewers for what that looks like from a truly humble source and honestly, I think that is fed from their desire to learn and tempered by their years of friendship. We are getting a rare look at a relationship that has overcome great obstacles and weathered storms to become what it is today. Unfortunately, that isn't super typical in this society today and I always find myself so incredibly grateful to be able to "see it to believe it" in a way. Seeing them and how they interact with each other allowed me to take a look at my own actions in how I treated people and decide I didn't like it, that I wanted to be better. Thank you for all your wisdom, laughs, reality checks, and encouragement Imp and Skizz. Keep being your authentic selves both in front of and behind the camera. ♡

Hey Impulse, you may never see this comment, but I just have to say you've done really well with the health kick! I've been watching you for a while and seen your progress but in this episode especially for whatever reason it is really noticeable how much you've slimmed down man! So I just wanted to say a massive congratulations on your progress mate! I've just started my own sort of weightloss journey in the last month or so and I can say without a doubt seeing and hearing what a difference it's made to you is a genuine inspiration.

You can still be self actualised and set boundaries that you know may be trampled. Saying “don’t tell others I can do this” is just protecting your own peace. Y’all are just aware of what you’re emotionally capable of and that is okay! ❤ Can’t take care of others if you are left on empty. Taking care of your own peace counts as taking care of someone, because you ARE someone. Also cannot stop laughing at the “don’t zoom in… don’t zoom out.” 😂

Oh my goodness! I can't stop laughing. 🤣 When you guys walked in and the first thing Skizz does is turning the camera almost upside down I just lost it. Such a pro vlogger. And then you guys put the camera down so you can start setting up... with the camera facing a wall... and all the setup happening behind the camera... well it's nice that the video viewers get the same experience as the audio only people once in a while, I guess. 🤣 Please know that I love you guys, and this isn't meant as any form of negativity towards what you do. As you said, this was a learning experience, and after you have done a couple more vlog videos you will facepalm over this one so hard. Also, the audio sounded really good, so good job on the mics! ❤

I don't feel like I have a lot of strengths to share with others, however; I do believe I can be helpful at this moment. Next time you are setting up on set somewhere with bad lighting, I recommend using reflectors and defusers for your lights. It helps more than you would think. A reflector can be as simple as a piece of cardboard wrapped in foil, Imp has wrapping experience :) and a defuser can be as simple as a white sheet to soften light. If you don't understand what I am saying, cause I am bad at words, ask Mumbo please. He is great at photography/videography.
@Karimiles323817 күн бұрын
I don't know very many people who are truly at the top of the pyramid. I honestly think it's a big step to realize what capacity you have to get your work done and how much time you reasonably can take to dedicate to another person's goals. So being able to, up front, set the boundary with someone of "don't tell others because I can't do this for everyone who would want me to" is a step too many don't take. It's way too easy to get ahead of yourself and go down a rabbit hole of helping people and then you realize your cup is bone dry and you've poured everything out and can't take care of yourself or even what your immediate family needs. I enjoy baking for people and I'm self-taught so I have a hard time pricing my work because I feel bad because I downplay what I do because I have no formal training. Then when I do it for free, something turns into a huge chunk of time that I didn't expect because I'm a perfectionist. So there always seems to be a catch 22 when leveraging skills to help someone and being able to stay within the parameters you're comfortable with BEFORE you end up drowning, it huge. I want to get better about that for myself!

If you are both able (I don't know all the YT & copyright stuff) and willing to share your results, I feel a conversation about them and experiences that relate would be a very enlightening episode for those of us that are still learning how to sort all the things I enjoy vs all the skills I have to find the sweet spot.

I've gone from Mc Donalds cashier to store manager, skip to Maintenance tech then electrician, now Woodworker and DIY Auto mechanic. If you put a machine in front of me (including a robot) working, or not, I will figure out its purpose, flaws, and potential improvements within hours to days, depending on complexity. Like impy said, it's a love of learning, or maybe an obsession. I get BORED if I am not learning. One of these days, i'm going to make something in the wood shop in honor of my favorite creators

your talk about the sadness of having to say no is something i understand. and also saw you two have to put into action when you retired birthday You Yo-s. it made me sad, but i completely understood why, as your whole stream would have been taken up by them. another podcast i watch actually had to appologize that they couldn't read out all the random silly superchats at the end of their live stream because the superchats would be 3 hours, after a 1 hour podcast, and their girlfriends want them home for dinner and bed before midnight. So they're sticking with only reading the relevant ones to the topic. I lost a lot of friends when i had to start telling people no. but i found the people who actually care about me, and not just what i could do for them. and that means a lot to me.

I feel the "overused skill set" thing. I work in a very tech based school/academy with a lot of staff that don't know even the basics of some things, so when a task like "set your emails to out of office for Christmas" comes round, I have a line of people with laptops on the last day of term asking for help. I don't mind helping with small tasks when I have time but it can very quickly follow with the "could you just..." questions.

Yeah, I made the mistake Skizz didn't... I helped out and made a video essay for my grandmother's history group... I had the priest from my church at my door the next day saying that my gm had said I'd be able to do an advert for them... Like, I did this for gm because she's awesome and she's family... And as much as I hate being rude to a church; This is my job. I didn't want to decline them because that would be rude, rude... So I just told them my day rate. They didn't contact me after that. But they didn't even email me... They just showed up at my front door assuming I'd do this for them... I don't do freebies anymore. I'll do significant discounts, but I need people to understand that this is something I do for work, or they end up like gm and will tell people I did {project} for free.
