@alescaarquite Considering she blackmailed him into the relationship, why does she deserve better. Misa is a horrible person for the reasons you stated (and others - e.g. killing those reporters simply because they voiced disagreement with Kira's killings).

Much as I despise Light, it is clearly evident that he was disturbed by the prospect of killing Saiyu. But the fact that he would have otherwise done so - and simply to protect the notebook! - does prove your point.

@@ThamesChase Yeah, he was disturbed, but (and I'm going off his internal monologue in the anime) only because, as he mentions, if he killed her, that would make him look suspicious 👀 the only problem he acknowledges (at least in his thoughts as shown in the anime) was the risk being suspected, not losing his poor sister

It was stated in the very first episode that Ryuk had two notebooks. This episode tells you why that was. Because he stole this other Shinigami's notebook before the series even started.

I don’t know this for a fact but I was told that somewhere in the manga it said that Saiyuu was the only person Kira cared about. But I can’t confirm this lol

The anime abridges a lot of the Mello/Mafia arc from the manga so it kind of created a plot hole. There's a traitor in the SPK, the guy who shoots himself, that's how Mello got the names of the SPK members to write down in the notebook.

NEars towerbuilding or games is all metaphorically, like when missing the dart in previous episode is like: WE dont have him yet... and The collapse of the dice building, new setback (Piece by piece laying the pieces together, but a small thing happens and everything collapses). Also: I love nears themesong.

The alternate version of the scene where all the SPK agents die is so beautifully orchestrated, it’s from the movie version and they cut the whole hostage subplot, so they had Kira arrange their deaths instead. I really recommend you guys watch it if you haven’t already.

There’s actually two movies, but they’re both called Relight, you should be able to find the dub for both parts on one of the gogoanime websites. If you don’t want to watch the whole thing though people have uploaded the new scenes onto KZbin.

FYI, the anime leaves out a whole lot around this point in the story, and it has a different ending, so I would recommend reading the Manga if you wanna see the missing parts.

Enjoyed these reactions but I have to say, I don't understand why so many people sympathize with Misa (well actually I do, and that's why it aggravates me). Misa *doesn't* deserve better. She deserves prison. Suzy Lu: "Don't be mean to Misa, she's only here because of you!" As much as it pains me to defend Light, he didn't ask her to be. She stalked him, forced herself on him, (in the manga) blackmailed him with Rem's threat, etc. Not only is she a cold blooded murderer who was willing to kill innocent police, reporters, her own friend - remember the girl who helped her make the tapes (someone totally innocent, had no knowledge whatsoever, and was only involved due to being manipulated by her so called pure of heart "friend" - who was fully ready to kill her to prove her loyalty to someone she met minutes ago)? - but she essentially blackmails Light into the relationship, forces herself on him, openly says she's content to simply be used by him, etc. On the long list of reasons that Light Yagami is a scumbag, this isn't even on there. He treats Misa like s----, yes - as he should.
