Couple of things: - As others are saying, if you move a navy into the sea square that the dashed line of a strait crossing covers, you should be able to blockade the strait so enemy armies cannot cross it. - If you wish in a war to give control of a city in a peace deal to a client state, then change the occupier of the city from you to the vassal, then request it in the peace deal, and it should say (for example) “Aetolian Epirus to Sparta” instead of “Aetolian Epirus to Achaea” - Please do colonise Troizen. It’s a nasty blot on the belly of an otherwise quite lovely Achaean Greece... - One of the automated naval options is “Hunt enemy fleets”. I’ve found it to be quite efficient, especially if combined with a few smaller fleets on the automated “Reconnaissance” setting.

Jon, for the love of God, BLOCK THE DAMN STRAITS WITH YOUR NAVY
@Malovane775 жыл бұрын
I imagine that was the dying words of the Spartan King in that battle, as he thought of the straits of Byzantion. But, it was worth it for Jon's reaction to happy baby king. And, yeah, he could have destroyed the entire Phrygian army in those islands if he used his navy properly.
@ManyATrueNerd5 жыл бұрын
... Why? I WANT my enemies to cross the strait. It means they walk into the most brutal trap imaginable, with strait-crossing and hill penalties. The Macedonians were slaughtered BECAUSE I let them cross the strait.
@Malovane775 жыл бұрын
@@ManyATrueNerd If you block the straight after they come in, they can't leave, and their forces are destroyed. If you blocked at Byzantion, Sparta could have sieged all that territory for you. If you blocked the straits at the Eastern islands, Phrygia would have never taken them, and thus would not have reduced your war score. Otherwise, you could have led all their armies to their death in those islands by cutting their escape. In effect, you were in the perfect position to destroy Phrygia for good by releasing nations, taking large amounts of (hard to defend) territory, or at least get a few thousand more gold out of the arrangement, but you needed to actually lead them into "the most brutal trap imaginable", which is only accomplished through blocking straits.

Jon, I'm sure you know this, but when it comes to claiming provinces in peace negotiations, you only need to take the capital to ask for the province. So, you didn't actually have to take, say, Melos or Thera in order to get the Aegean Islands. The only time you have to take all the land in the territory is when you're taking the territory that you're claiming in a Casus Belli. Your score doesn't start ticking up until all of the territory is claimed.

@NepeanWarrior5 жыл бұрын
Jon, you need to start Carpet Siegeing in these situations. It's a tactic from EU4, which the fort system in Imperator copies rather closely. Essentially once it is safe (i.e. army defeated and major forts taken), you take all the unfortified land super quick by splitting an army up into 1 or 2 thousand man units and send one to each spot.
