This week for the second time my Friday delivery arrived on Sunday. I did get notification from them there would be a one day delay but had to go back and check the tracking on Saturday night to find out my delivery was now going to be on Sunday. Aggravating. We also had two boxes, one of which had a couple of apples, pears and onions but was otherwise empty. The second one was perhaps 1/3 rd full. So wasteful! Imperfect Foods is losing ground with me.

I have been a customer since 2021. Until the merger with Misfits food, I was pretty content with choices, prices, quality, delivery. But last six months deliveries have been late, missing and screwed up .As of today, I quit. As a disabled person, I can't " bop" over to the local store to pick up the items I need. For example, in out of milk today, but delivery should have arrived today. Nada, rien, nothing. Not even a word! And if I have my daughter pick up milk tomorrow tomorrow, and my delivery shows up after, what do I need double milk for. They are happy to refund or credit my next purchase but it's not about money for me. Too bad because I really love the products in general.

I joined Imperfect produce yesterday to see how it worked. I'm kind of a joiner so I've done Farm Fresh and a local CSA. I live in northern CA also close to Sacramento so we have no problem getting really good food here. Farm Fresh had good produce but expensive for what you got. The CSA was great but unpredictable with what they had available. Both had ability to change produce order. I buy most of my produce now at Sprouts, Nugget and Raleys. I also shop the sale items so Imperfects prices may not be a selling point for me. I will read the articles you linked because I like the idea of saving food from the landfill because waste makes me go crazy. However I think that is not the whole story and now I'm really curious. I also do a Walmart pickup once a week and buy most of my meat from Crowd Cow. I save money by just not walking through the doors of a grocery store ( I think that's my form of retail therapy). I just found your channel so kudos on the research you do.

So many comments about it costing the same. The point is waste reduction. So you can buy big chain groceries or spend the same and have a positive impact. There is potential savings with certain products, yes. It wont be for everyone, but that doesnt make it a rip off. If someone prefers big chain then go for it. 🤷

First of all you're comparing imperfect foods with one of the most expensive supermarkets. Why not compare imperfect foods with Walmart or even Albertsons or Safeway? Being cheaper than Whole Foods doesn't really say much considering how expensive are. You should also check out those supermarkets that cater to Hispanics. You can get really good deals on produce if you check the weekly advertisements. And also if you like organic foods, a lot of stores have there name brands at a really good price. And honestly I don't really see a good variety of different foods period all I see in that box is a heavy majority of fruits and vegetables with other fancy Gourmet type foods that a lot of people may not buy considering their budget. Imperfect Foods looks like it's just your typical middle to upper-middle-class soccer mom food. I just don't see the big deal when you can save coupons and were keep checking the weekly ads for additional savings

I love imperfect foods. I’ve been using it since maybe August of last year. I’m single and live alone so I always pay the 4.99 delivery fee because I can’t possibly use enough food weekly to not pay delivery. I do most of my in person shopping at a small local store that doesn’t always have the freshest produce or even the meats I like. For me, personally, if I drive a bit further to a giant grocery chain I end up giving into temptation buying way more than what I intended. However, I do give into temptation with imperfect because there are a lot of foods I wouldn’t consider trying if I saw them in the grocery store-such as vegan meats and dairy. I look forward to my weekly orders.
