Played a demo game at Essen and am a bit lukewarm on it. I think it was a fine game, but something was holding me back. There is a lot of things to keep track of as the game gets on if you want to maximise your turns; do I think you're spot on with the possible AP problem. It reminded me a bit of San Juan (Puerto Rico card game), although it is quite different and San Juan is a bit more easy with less to keep track of. I have San Juan and haven't played it that much so I think I don't need this one too (and I was spending too much already at Essen :)) But the final tipping point for me was the price. It was 40 euros at Essen, for a card game! Yes, there are a lot of wooden bits and pieces that look nice, but for me that didn't make the game worth that much. (as a reference, I bought Versailles after a lot of thinking for only 30 euros; although not to be compared, that game is huge compared to this: big board, lots of wooden cubes, tiles etc. (this was a special Essen price though)) Oh, and keep it up Joel!

I get a weird "Valentine's Day candy" vibe from the wooden bits.

At around 7:53 there seems to be a skip: You were just talking about building and then you're in the middle of explaining deals. Can't wait to get this!

Drive Thru Review Looks like it's on the cutting room floor somehow. Not sure what happened. It was only about 3 seconds of footage. Weird. I annotated. Thanks for the heads up!

Does this replace Race for the Galaxy? I'm interested in this, but I already own RftG and don't want to see it overshadowed..

Among the folks that enjoy Race in my group (myself being one), we are split. I think this does for me, but for some others they aren't as hot on it, but they do enjoy it. Time will tell. Race is a beast :)
