So there is always going to be comparisons to the fall and rightly so when 3/4 of the band were once in the greatest group ever. Imo they played in some of the best fall records but im so glad they didn't do a clone of blindness or anything like that, truly original and truly wonderful. When the great MES passed i feared for these guys but there was really no need, the album is amazing too!

I really must be living under a rock!!!! Since MES passing , i always wondered what the rest of the band were up too & hoped they are still playing as they were awesome. I've just discovered Imperial wax by 1 of the comments on a Fall video, Latch key kid. This is brilliant. Cheers.

Gastwerk Saboteurs has got to be one of my favorite albums, so full of energy. One of the few albums that actually me go wild with energy when I listen to it.

Finally, non a stupid teenager Spotify band, at last a quality, stylish neoPost-Punk Brit band that does not copy the typical 80s bands (Joy Division/New Order, The Cure/Echo/Siouxsie, U2,...) without grace or foundation, that do not bore the goats like most and that demonstrate knowing how to make a hummable song. Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs would give part of their big money earned by some of the songs of these guys. As a mix of The Fall (they were the Mark Smith's band in the 2000's, but, be careful, not copying it in a cheeky way as Protomartyr does) and Noise Pop of Kraut Rock fondness, (eye, without falling into the Shoegazer sound) and with a drunken swampy rockandrolla spirit made in The Birthday Party/ Nick Cave, The Beasts Of Bourbon, Kim Salmon's The Scientists or Gun Club. Cool to death. This band at the stage can be a bomb.

Hah! Same with me. I'm just waiting for a Mark to grab the mic and start ranting on about whatever.

that guitar melody and that chorus vocal 'always thinkin of myself' reminds me of XTC somehow
