Yea, the coolest thing about it is her switch from distortion to high opera-like notes. I used to growl alot in my twenties, so I know how fucked up it is when you switch vocal style like this. Theires another part in this song where she switches faster than this(3:06 although its a switch to regular mid-vocals). The fact that she recently learned how to growl and manages to switch between the 2 vocal types is impressive to me. I mean her growling aint that great, but its good enough for a woman, great for a woman who's just beginning, and that quick switch between the 2 styles just shows her natural talent.

Very well done, loving the new style and the improved music style. I love the addition of the growls as a contrast with the heavier symphonic metal. All bands evolve and I find it refreshing to see new aspects of each band. @@jo_g.germany Well yea, Epica's songwriting skill and musicianship are really high. But I personally dig Gnosis alot, where i'm pretty bored of Epica. And I was among the first fans of Epica, 20 years ago. Therion(IA is in its branch) and Epica have always made 2 different genres though. IA is advancing its own genre, where Therion stalled a long time ago when it became pop. That's what my comment is about - IA, an underground band, is doing what Therion cannot do. I said Epica can learn from this, because Epica is stalling in its genre, like Therion is.

Aside from Jane's new distortion vocals and the improved musiciens, i'd like to point out something noone seems to mention - both Alex and Jane have been improving their regular vocals alot. Alex has been struggling with the high notes occasionnally, he seems to control it more now. Jane seems to be natural with singing, has good control in any situation and learns quickly since she dropped the keyboard.

Jane even learned to growl between 2 sips of wine :D But im more impressed with Alex's clean vocals improvement than Jane's distortions. 4:34 Now imagine if most of your songs were at this level. You'd play in hockey arenas in Canada(our biggest venues). Exactly where I saw Sabaton, Epica, Powerwolf and Unleash the Archers not long ago(all bands that i've also discovered at their beginnings). Предыдущее творчество группы любил за идеальное сочетание красивой мелодии, шикарного сопрано и хора, а также в меру жестко-драйвового инструментала. Теперь же все стало экстремально жестко (гитары+ударные), а потерю красивого сопрано безнадежно пытаются прикрыть жестким гроулом. В общем, эмиграция группы в Европу и потеря 80% ее участников (включая Анну, много лет отвечавшую за реально красивый вокал всей группы), не прошли без последствий… Короче, прощай красивый симфоник-метал, за который так любили Imperial Age… Извините за правду… 🙈🙈🙈
