If you just look at the overall reason why Lorgar and Magnus did what they did: Big E, then yes it’s easy to sympathize with then. But you have to see that they aligned with evil, killing trillions, destroying the galaxy Also the Big E became what he feared the most: a God. A God that will grow stronger. He’s an equal to any one chaos god at a given time if they both turn their attention on each other. So yea there’s no laughing going on

If you're talking about the eight point star thingy it's a symbol for Chaos Undivided in WH40k and also the symbol for Chaos in Michael Moorcock's Elric books. I'm pretty sure it originated as a symbol for Chaos with Moorcock.

Funny how big the influence of the Word Bearers is to the empire and also astartes. The whole ecclesiarchy is based on Lorgars design. The whole faith to the god emperor, the reason the emperor destroyed an entire planet, is based on that. Also loyal astartes still use chaplains. Lorgar turned the empire to Monarchia only to make it crumble like the emperor did and they all worship the corpse emperor as a god. Thats irony...
