There are theories though, ranging from the Dragon Barrier God to God himself. But that's just going to be a secret that ZUN will tell us when he's sober.

Finally read over the rest of Tohonifun's doujins though, so I think my addiction's cooled for a while. She is a playable character in Imperishable Night along with Marisa. But they are also the 2 stage 4 bosses you can fight(one or the other).

hmm... a significant battle in many ways. first off, because this is the first time in pc danmaku games that you get to fight Reimu. is a rare thing to see what a previously always player character does on the "other side" when put into the enemy role. next, for the other characters except Yukari, it's a danmaku rematch. for Marisa, after Touhou 2, 3 and 4. for Alice, after Touhou 5 and 7. for Sakuya and Remilia, after Touhou 6.. etc. ZUN sure knows how to make things truely epic.

I find Reimu's harder than Marisa's D: Sure Marisa has more blinding attacks but Reimu is just has attacks that r harder to avoid.

@raak1010 i know. ^^ i has all 19 Touhou from 1 to 13. i don't do fan stuff though. i like to keep things original. :) i only kinda just tried them out from 1 to 5. finished Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream with Reimu on my 1st try (and many continues). as for EoSD and up, my aim is to finish the games with each and every playable character, at least on normal, but including extra and phantasm stages. able to no-death EoSD up to Sakuya on normal atm. stuck with her last 2 spells... need more practice

Out of curiosity, I felt that what your description talked about with Reimu resembles more her attitude in the beginning parts of Tohonifun's Koumakyou doujin. That, and I haven't played CtC yet. =X Koumakyou seemed to kind of set the tone for most of what Tohonifun seemed to portray Reimu as: the order of Gensokyo, AKA the will of the Hakurei. At least, that's how I see it now. And I also find Reimu more difficult to handle than Marisa. =S

@BadKarmaProduction As far as I know (and have played), when you play as the Scarlet Team, you get to fight with Reimu, not Marisa. When playing as Netherworld Team, you face Marisa, not Reimu.

Every time Reimu is a boss, I thank the gods that the spell card rules are in place, what with her ability to "Fly away from this realm and become invincible" (official, albeit paraphrased, description of what her abilities actually entail. I can't remember which game says it). It would be a bit cheap if she was actually allowed to do that.

Sophia Wright I have, thanks! Twice, actually. The first one was FinalA, and finished 0/0 - I had nothing left at the end of brain of god, and captured Apollo 13 and Astronomical Entombing. My second had 2 lives left at the end, and was finalB. Game before final stage went much better, Kaguya showed me why she's the final boss :V I wish you luck with your hard 1cc!
