Micheal absolutely NAILED his performance. This is one of those episodes we can watch over and over!! If there were ever to be a reboot of the series, Michael would HAVE to be cast as Jack. Indeed.

I have a scenario for that. SG1 finds a device made by Ba'al that only works if it's used by someone and his clone on two different planets. He made that to be sure that only him could use it. The only way SGC could use it is to bring back both Jacks.

@@romaina.6241 Interesting idea. But then it would work for anyone with a clone. For instance Annubis ... If there were some clones of him running around, they might try to get to that device too. That could be a good episode.

To be fair, once you think about the situation too hard, the cracks would start to form rather quickly. It starts with a 40-year-old going to high school while having some of the most insane government secrets possible in his brain. They should have had some memory suppressing thingamaguffin and it could have been fine. But two 40-year-olds, one of them in the body of a 15-year-old nudging and winking how great it is to go to high school again with all the knowledge he has while looking at young girls was one of the creepiest scenes in the entire run of the show. Even surpassing Narim using Sam's voice in his smart home...
@hundetuem
@hundetuem 3 ай бұрын
@@DrZaius3141 Well, in general, he´s kind of a decent man. He would keep back to an acceptable level and concentrate of icehockey and football until he was "old" enough for girls aged 18. I think he could keep secrets to himself, as well. Nobody subpressed any of the SG-personnel so that nothing slipped out in private life (unlike UNIT at the black archives in Dr. Who ...)
@chrisschembari2486

@@DrZaius3141I think it's a bit like what Yoda said about the dark hollow on Dagobah in Empire Strikes Back. Luke: What will I find in there? Yoda: Only what you bring with you. So if you can only see creepy in that scene, it might be a reflection of something that's ... not actually in the scene.

Man, I think about this episode just randomly sometimes. Just out of nowhere. It's one of those performances that just sucks you into the episode by being so good. He guest starred in the first episode of the reboot, opposite Raymond Lee -- who is the new lead. That's what Michael is referring to when he says Ray told him, "If I was playing Sam Beckett ..." Ray doesn't want to replace an actor in an iconic role, but play his own character set in the same universe.

The ending for this episode was terrible. It was the worst thing I have ever seen in Stargate. It used a stupid high-school/coming of age movie trope at the end and it made Jack look like a pedo.
@heathb4319
@heathb4319 11 ай бұрын
Well he was only a couple weeks old. But did have a lot of knowledge at his age to capitalize on. So while you could make the argument and comment you did... I think you are reading way to deep into it. So in mindset he was older...but in age...he was literally a couple weeks old as for the world goes but his appearance was normal. So the argument could be made, but in reality of the show...so what. While those kinds of people need to be put to rest...this wasn't one of those times.
