I think a shift in the whole mode of living needs more than just an intellectual acceptance of a new view. That must be internalized on a deep emotional level, which can certainly happen after use of psychedelics or pondering the philosophy over a longer period of time.

There is a crucial aspect that arises when having contact with Kastrup. He emphasizes that the passage from the materialist vision to the idealist vision represents a radical change in our way of living. This happens to sound like a simple shirt change; from having some shoes, to having others. This, at first, induces a feeling of lack of consistency: someone else will come and sell me his alternative method to live much more authentically. When reading Kastrup, what he points out is already acting: is objectified what he calls "materialism." But what he tries to convey is expressed much better if the reading is contextualized based on the moment, the incontrovertible reality of the now. That is, are we aware, while we read, that we are under the influence of what he refers to as materialism? Obviously not. Therefore, if we completely ignore being subject to a certain vision of the world, it follows that we completely ignore what a VISION of the world is; We completely ignore what is happening factually. Then, as a further consequence of this, the FREEDOM involved in changing the way of seeing reality is completely unknown. Both qualities, vision and freedom, are consciousness in action and are indissoluble. The mere fact of becoming aware of the materialistic mode of vision that subdues existence from the depths is equivalent to transcending it, to changing the mode of vision; It is equal to freedom. (Krishnamurti already pointed out precisely this, decades ago, with his particular language: "seeing the complete structure of thought [materialist metaphysics, in Kastrup's words], instantly ends all its vast contradictory content).
