I was respectfully never into it, because it felt like a really off take on Superman that only existed because to make their Batman look better by comparison as the main character. I dunno, I don't like it when a character with their own history and presence feels relegated to being a side character in someone else's show that blatantly. And I do think that The Batman had a running issue about Batman being always right about everything, like they were concerned that him being wrong at any point would make him less cool.
@aryandairshad4 ай бұрын
The Batman's (2004) take on the World's Finest dynamic is quite interesting because it sort of flips their personality. Batman is a team player who's open to a partnership, while Superman is a lone wolf who doesn't value teamwork initially. It's a pretty refreshing take on their friendship without compromising too much of their character.
@Bowiiihowdy4 ай бұрын
I've kinda always like how The Batman portrays batman. He seems like a generally well balanced person. He is driven to fighting crime due to his parents death but it's not an obsession. He's not always grim and unfriendly. He only goes full obsession in that flashback when the future GCPD finds the cave when trying to fight freeze
@kf81134 ай бұрын

Batman and Superman. The foils of these two. Batman is human and yet because of what he does, some people have considered Batman to be more than human; hell Amanda Waller once said that Batman was so skilled and powerful via mind that she considered Batman a meta human. While Superman on the other hand is an alien among earthlings but yet wishes to be viewed as a human being and not as a god. Not to mention that unlike Bruce, he had a childhood.
@christopherauzenne50238 күн бұрын
Additionally (because I’m not a fan of the Batman is the real persona schtick) The faces of Clark and Superman are both equally Clark showcasing who he really is in different ways, Clark his hometown values & love of the simple things and Superman showing his heritage, history and what he can do for others While on the other hand bruce has to constantly play a front in and out of costume, the aloof billionaire playboy socialite civilian to throw off suspicion and the role of the vengeful spirit in order to strike fear into the criminal world of Gotham. He has to fake himself in someway or another

I like the dynamic they have in the batman (2004). I'm not sure of the timeline but I get the impression that batman has been working as a hero longer than clark and he already has his partnership with batgirl and robin. Superman on the otherhand probably hasn't worked with many others and if he has, he was probably too worried about their safety. Batman being portrayed as the loner type even after he has worked with robin never made sense to me, like wym you're a loner, you have sidekicks and in this case multiple! I love this portrayal because rather than just sticking to the perception of how they would act the writers instead stayed true to the characters and where they were at in their journey
@christopherauzenne5023Ай бұрын
honestly 100%, this interpretation makes way more sense in general (both for show & comics), like the bat family is probably larger than most superhero teams and yet batman still acts like "I work alone" or "I can't get too close to people" just feels like the equivalent of a teen acting needlessly edgy. The show just removing that and deciding since he has the sidekicks it makes more sense for him to be more open and friendly

Yeah, it’s kinda like OG TAS before the new adventures & JL/JLU changed it to the emotionless, “cold is cool” personality to many writers try to make him. Originally Bruce could be friendly, make genuine connections and have Batman smile or laugh. I wish more stories actually bout care into the Bruce Wayne side of the character instead of the dumb “Batman is the real persona” schtick” But honestly this video and seeing how open & just not the “I work alone, despite me consistently having people I work with” (gordan, alfred, fox, multitude of bat family) bs with other heroes, has genuinely made me interested in watching the show

In a way, my favorite superbat relationship has to be in dan mora's run of world's finest. They managed to show the relationship between the two men without bringing one down or making one look like the dumb one who doesnt even have common sense (which a lot of iterations make supes look like 😭 funny considering how kryptonians are naturally smarter than humans). It shows supes helping bruce when he's in a pitch and bruce doing the same, it also shows bruce slowly but surely opening up to people outside his family and finally accepting Clark as his best friend (heck one of the rare times he does smile is when clark wakes up after a tough surgery)

I will always like how Batman and Superman will always be the best of friends despite their differences. While I do like the Batman Superman story two part episode, I still think that Batman and Superman's personality roles were reversed in those episodes. Superman should be the one inviting Batman, not the one who feels he works better alone, just as Batman should be the loner rather than him trying to teach Superman the importance of teamwork.

It's not that far off. In Justice League, the team are doing training drills and Supes is arguing with everyone about how he just does whatever he wants cause he knows the best thing to do in that moment. I believe he said something like 'Every hit I take is a hit someone else doesn't have to.'

I absolutely hated the Snyder "Batman vs. Superman" movie. Those torture scenes were awful to watch. I think the movie insulted both Characters... the torture of Superman was against everything I've believed about Batman and I've been a fan for decades. Superman acting so irrationally as to strike back at first, annoyed me. He had something far more important to do than play rough with a human being. He could have flown up and not fallen for Batman's traps. Explained to Bruce what was wrong. Superman and Batman should be friends. They have common interests and Superman may be an alien, but he's an alien who does his best to stay humble and serve mankind. The Irony is, of course, that Batman is far richer than Superman, Bruce far richer than Clark. I've bought the animated series and I'm very, very surprised how good the stories are. They can never been as good as live action, but they are very good stories, well told.

A recent Batman Superman World’s Finest Comic story reinvented how the two heroes first met. Written by Mark Waid, in this take we don’t see Superman and Batman throw punches or insults. They respect each other’s boundaries. Ironically, Bruce invites Clark Kent to Wayne Manor and reveals his secret identity to him as a show of trust while joking that Superman would have eventually peaked using X-ray vision. Clark states he would never do such a thing and Bruce simply states that this beats wearing a lead cowl.
