Ikr I drew up looking at this building almost everyday. Now it’s gone, it was literally the tallest building in the southwest corner of the state and now we’ll probably never get another building close to its hight.

That was the twic office a few years back, and one day I went ahead and explored the building. Went to the topmost floor, which was a defunct restaurant called "The View", which was aptly named. Amazing view of the lake on one side, and downtown on the other. I'll never forget this iconic landmark and focal point of the LC skyline.

My dad worked in the tower, I remember going up to see the view and penthouse one time. The restaurant was ready, waiting for someone to open back up and the penthouse was set up like someone was living there but it had been abandoned for years. Pretty crazy.

I'm surprised not all of the glass window panes were removed. I'm also surprised a bldg like that wasn't protected by a local landmarks preservation committee, similar to the one in NYC. This occurrence Is a little sad to watch, but great video!!!

They didn’t have the funds to fix it, it would have costed millions. It was boarded up and abandoned for 4 years before they did this &it was sad to look at on a daily basis. Also was the tallest building in the city but other than that there wasn’t anything historic about it.

From what I was reading, sounded like it would’ve cost more to repair than demo at this point…Original building cost something like $40 million and repairs would’ve been over $100 mil

@@ChristineWyninger the building had too much internal damage, plus most of the glass panels were shattered, hence the high cost of repair, so they decided to demolish it
