South Africa has a complex import process.
The South African Revenue Service, also know as SARS, defines approximately 90,000 product tariff codes that are strictly enforced on all imports. All importers and exporters in South Africa are required to register with customs at SARS. Certain goods and/or products will require an import permit, which must be produced at the time of clearance.
This video offers an introduction to Import / Export regulations in South Africa.
