Hi, May know what is the file format for importing test questions which I have created for first time. Meaning I'm creating a brand new set of questions which I would like to upload to my course. I use the Blackboard Ultra. Do I save my questions in a Word (.doc, .docx, etc..) or a Tab Delimited Text (.txt) format? I followed one video tutorial recommending me to type the questions in Excel and save it as (.txt) for upload, this didnt work. Thank you.
In Blackboard, is there a way to create a test that has a format of multi-step word problems? Kindest regards.

Hi Mickey - interesting question, but based on my understanding of your question, unfortunately no. However, you could create an essay question and ask students to type the process that they would use into the response box. Or you could create a multiple choice or multiple answer question and provide variations of the process in the answers, and then students could pick the correct version or versions. Or you could do a "file response" question and students could take a photo of their answer on paper and submit it. However, this could be complicated for students if it was required within a very short time-frame, as would be the case in a timed test. It's also a challenge because many community college students do not have a computer or chromebook at home, and sometimes do not have Internet access, so they are using their phones. If these are math-type problems that may take students some time to work out, an alternative might be to use the Assignments tool instead. Students could write their answers on paper and attach the photos to the assignment submission. I hope I understood your question correctly and that these options are helpful.

Is there a way to import a test that is NOT from the publisher? In other words, can I import a test I created?

Absolutely! You can create either Tests OR pools. So for example let's say that you developed an exam in one section and want to export it and import it into another course to deploy, you can do that. Similarly, you could create a pool or pools of questions that you had developed, and export them then import them into a different section. I actually linked a video in this playlist (created by Blackboard) that shows how to do this. Here is the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gajUlX97aresfbM

You rushed too much and missed few steps. Very bad presentation.
