I heard a physical fitness trainer to the movie stars saying on tv "I hate it when clients call up saying that they are too sick to attend their training appointment in the morning. I always keep the house under surveillance from 4 am until the appointment time. If the person is energetic enough to walk out of the door to pick up the morning newspaper on the lawn before they go back to bed and call me, I know that they are energetic enough to exercise with me. "

I think you look so much better in Social Security's eyes if you put down you're doing something - anything to try to get better.

Why don't we just cut to the chase...if you are under 50 years old short of having a few months to live you are more than likely to not get approved no matter what debilitating conditions you have..and that's just the physical aspect. If you are applying for mental disability..well unless you have been hospitalized numerous times in a nut house and or have had several suicide attempts you need not apply either..regardless of your conditions. Another topic no one is ever aware of is that there is a five year window to apply for ssdi from which the last time you actually worked and had any earnings otherwise you loose all of your paid in taxes to social security until you are 65. Also you could have the greatest dr in the world documenting eloquently your conditions and reasons in which you would be incapable of working a full time job..but as soon as you are sent to a social security evaluation dr..let's just say their opinion is the only one that matters in the entire 15 minutes that they have known you. Bottom line be prepared to wait atleast 3 or more years to ultimately get turned down again and again if you are under 50..which by the way is the apitumy of age discrimination. Now..if you reach 50 and actually do get approved for the money you have paid in by disabiling your body you will have long lost your back pay and might even wind up getting a fraction of what you were supposed to get depending on your dli date. And guess what folks from the moment you get whatever change is left over to get and you have struggled to survive for years on end destroying your family and friends by having to get money from them to just survive on..then the absolute first thing social security does is try to take it away as soon as possible by sending you directly to review after review and you will be sent to an unqualified person to make the decision that you have improved and there goes everything you have tried in vain to get. I'm being totally honest and anyone who has been through this sharade knows exactly what I'm talking about. Our system is so bad it should be considered criminal the way they are allowed to get away with destroying hard working people's lives. Start standing up to these crooks we as a people deserve our money that we have paid in when we become disabled because we have worked so hard. One more thing ...the definition of being disabled to work is just this..an individual would not be able to work 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week without excessive breaks and or more than normal time off wordue to their debilitating condition...I'm done!

I wish I would have seen this before I filled mine out. Part of my disability is with my hands and by the end of the form I noticed a decline in my handwriting. Could this be why I was ordered to go to an exam? I am 57 and was a paramedic for just shy of 35 years. It took its toll

When I went to get my typewriter repaired, the man said "This will be the last machine I ever work on. I am going to close the shop next month."

I think one of these days working typewriters will be worth their weight in gold. The problem is, form SSA-3373 doesn't lend itself to being completed online, it's either write it by hand, or with a typewriter.

For question 5, I put I cannot interact socially because of a malodor stemming from a digestive dysfunction. I used "interact socially " because it was on your list of 15.
