Earlier in announcements it said specifically it is not the Christmas update and it’s just for the game to come out of app lab

wrong, you can still play on steam if your account owned a copy of gtag prior to the update. you can still pay for the shiny rocks but if you own gorilla tag on pc prior to the price change you can still play
