I am a retired radiographer. Much of the radiography shown is of an unacceptable standard. The swimmers view that is not collimated to the spine but includes the chest and sternum. The collimation is better on the person demonstrated than it is on the radiograph. Optic foramina projection includes primary beam exposure to all the skull and neck. It should be collimated to 10x10cm . Waters projection is shown to include all the skull and neck wheres it should only include face. Townes projection repeats the century long error of including the face and neck in the primary beam when it should be collimated off by decreasing the tube angle by 4 degrees. Usually this extra radiation misses the cassette. 30 million people had their faces needlessly irradiated because they followed instructions developed in the 1920s before the light beam diaphragm. As with all Indian radiography, the ankle mortice view needlessly irradiates the foot and much of the leg, increasing patient dose by 4 times but degrading the quality of the radiography through scatter radiation. Frog leg view of the hips has included primary beam exposure to the boys gonads. Something the rest of the world avoids and prevents. There is no sign of any collimation of the image so how much extra radiation was used? Odontoid projection is inadequately collimated in demonstration and in radiograph. Always collimate within the skin edge. The model gets her eyes included in the primary beam for some reason. Skyline patellas show no sign of any collimation so that is at least 3 times the dose. Some Indian radiographs are so bad ad this projection they include a primary beam dose to the gonads for men. The demonstration of the hip projection show collimation way beyond the limits of the cassette and the Bucky is not in alignment with the beam. The radiograph is of the entire pelvis and not the hip so the dose is several times more than required. After looking at hundreds of tutor videos and images from India, my conclusion is that the population of India get about 8 times the global average x-ray radiation dose due to lack of collimation and an error in understanding the geometry of the projection. Globally, only 1 in 4 radiographers understands what happens to the projection if the tube button is pushed and the tube angled. See if you can pass the test. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4uzdZKdgdhoetk.
