In Australia we had different missing persons in our video clip. We had missing Australians. And in that clip was 2 victims of a monster serial killer in Australia. Sadly their remains were recovered some time later. Definitely a great initiative to use missing persons to get their images out to a broader audience

I am Australian and I don't remember that version. I only know the American video. Interesting to know though, thanks.

They did one for England as well, with English missing kids. I love that they cared. Most Americans I believe are unaware of the Australian and England versions. Sadly neither were as successful as finding victims as the US version.

@ I’m glad I’m not the only one who remembers a different version of the clip for each individual country. I think it’s an amazing innovative way of spreading awareness and sharing information about the missing. Yes unfortunately in Australia the only missing persons that were found were unfortunately the deceased victims. I’m glad for their families sakes they were found.

This is a very beautiful song that I have loved since I first heard it. When I listen to it, I will repeat it a few times. It was only relatively recently that I actually watched the video and that hit me hard. Listening to you talk about your own life experiences makes me realise that it sometimes feels like we are all just stumbling through life hoping we more or less get it right. My parents never put pressure on me to perform academically but I was a nerd so I did well. We then also didn’t put pressure on our children, and when my daughter was at university she told us she wished we had put more pressure on her ! My husband was quite offended. I just acknowledged her feelings on this but let her know we just did what we thought was right, and that she never came with an instruction manual. Even “good” parents make many mistakes. Cest la vie ☀️

I hear ya, that's like my sister and I. Similar life experiences (unique but similar), and yet we have a vastly different perception of our childhood's. I valued the trust and space my mother gave me, and my sister wished there were more rules as she felt lack of rules felt unsafe. As you said, everyone tries their best :)

My thing was - the music was 100% supposed to be the background to the Lyrics, and did that perfectly. The melody is catchy, but the words carried it.

Misery is another great song by Soul Asylum. A few others are Black Gold, Somebody to Shove, and Without a Trace.
