This is an event that needs to go to Supreme Court. For us Catholics, the Eucharist is more precious than gold. So if someone grabbed a chunk of gold from someone and they defended it , it would not be even an issue. As you said, people have died over defending the Eucharist.

It is a symbol because Jesus said "Do this in MEMORY of me" It was done only ONCE authoritatively and authentically by Jesus himself. To believe that a mere man (priest) can do what Jesus did is not only ludicrous but also putting man on the level of Jesus, that is ..divine. The Protestants coined a term.."hocus pocus" Its origin? Latin "Hoc est deus meus" Hopefully you now understand why Protestants know that it is a symbol and a commemoration dictated by Christ.

I’m a cradle Catholic who’s been revisiting the faith for over a year. One of the main issues I had in my early years as a Catholic, and most likely played a huge role in my departure, was the lukewarm Catholics I saw all around me, and the indifference shown to the Eucharist, which I was guilty of as well. I recognize I did not have a true grasp of what it was in my youth. Based on data we’ve seen, it seems most Catholics today still share in this lack of reverence. This can be blamed on several things, but for whatever reason, it obviously still exists. It may sound strange to some, but I was thinking about this incident, and the actions of this priest may actually serve as a much needed wake up call to the lukewarm Catholics of the world. It may force them to think about why the priest went to such lengths to protect the consecrated host, and hopefully view the Eucharist in a much different light.

So much talk in years about intelligent life from elsewhere visiting our world. They say this would be the greatest occurrence to happen to us. If so, I had no good opinion about this. But a few months ago, my slow brain mechanisms thought “Hold on there!” I am sure many have already realized this, but I want to write that the greatest occurrence has happened and is still happening. Jesus - God and Man, was born of an Immaculate Virgin as any human is born. Though His Conception is one of a kind, He lived as a man among us. That “The Word” was made Incarnate by the Father with the Holy Spirit will always be the greatest event in human history. And Jesus left the Apostles with the authority to do as He did in the Breaking of the Bread. This continues because the Apostles passed this authority on to ordained men that during our Mass, the same that Jesus did, can be done through the prayers of the priest - by the Holy Spirit. What can be greater than to do this, and defend Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. My thanks to this priest whose first thought was to protect Jesus. You said everything correct except when you claimed that the papal authority is like a military regimen, & so the guys who complained at his traditionis custodis to restrict the TLM, needed to go to boot camp! Really??? Since when has the Catholic Church and the papacy ever been like a military regiment? Never. In 2000 years Christ said whoever wishes to lead must be the servant. I’m at a loss of words to say when people say that Jesus Christ is All Powerful and All Truth in what he speaks and does but deny his Truth and Power when Jesus told his Apostles at the Sacrificial meal take ye and eat for This Is My Body and did the same thing with the wine saying take ye and drink all of it for This Is My Blood Of the New Testament,now Isn’t that All Truth and Power of what Jesus Just Said And Did who has ears and eyes and a believing mind and Spirit let he or she Truly Prophet from this Amen Amen Amen 🙏 🐑🕊️✨🔥

I’ve read that the case will go to the State Attorney General and highly doubt much will happen when you bring in canon law which they do not deal with. Much like the nuns in Arlington wanting to sue Bishop Olsen.

Luther and Henry also had some very wacky ideas, you know like hacking off the heads of wives Henry didn’t like, murdering English Catholics who wouldn’t become Church of England and swear allegiance to Henry above God. Yeah, stuff like that. Luther despised Jews and Anabaptists and thought they should be killed if they didn’t convert. He also tried to remove several books out of his new German Bible but I think Melenthon put a stop to that. Luther was right about cardinals and papal indulgences though. Most of his gripes were addressed and corrected at the council of Trent anyway.

You know she is an activist by the presence of a Video recording of this event. Catholic’s don’t Video record Mass … and this woman is documented as going to two masses in a row ! The priest noted that he refused communion at the first mass, and she returned at the next mass and committed the sacrilegious acts against our Lord in the Eucharist. She apparently has no idea what she was doing and no evidence that she had any knowledge at all of believing in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

The priest has the charge and authority of the eucharist. She instigated the attack with no respect for the priest authority nor his instructions to prepare her to receive the blood and body of Jesus and has zero respect for the church order. This is an example of a hypocrite to demand the church change its ways for no valid reason. Sorry lady dont push your luck because your messing with Jesus consecrated minister. God doesnt like people touching holy things we saw what happen when somebody try touch ark of the covenant. The priest did his job it may not have required he bite her but he did so in self defence he didnt deserve to be charged. It has nothing to do with being a lesbian as she claims she was refused as shes an active gay. Her partner was not aggressive and received it she waa behind her in the queue. Its a false charge she makes to justify her unwanted aggression and unjustifiable act of trying to usurp and undermine the priest. Does she realise other parishioners have to actually take the host aa well after she put her hands over all if it.She is a troublemaker. If the priest gets charged with an offence so should she. He should not be charged but yes he acted on gut instinct. Soon we will need airport style security in our churches. Thank you Rob for voicing a solid opinion on this matter.
