Hey man. /) Thanks for at least leaving this video to explain things in loads of detail. There aren't many brony musicians like you around so it'll be a little sad for some of us I guess, but it isn't good to let anything enjoyable to become a burden too. Haven't actually ever commented on any of your vids before, so I'll take this opportunity to say my personal favourite was Morning Mist (still can't get over the fact that someone had to ruin that epic 1000:1 like to dislike ratio)! Surprisingly was one of the first songs I listened to not long after I joined this fandom. You know…I've always wished there was some easy way for the fans to still follow all the amazing non-pony works you musicians move on to make. Seems like a lot of us wouldn't mind following their favourite musicians even after pony is over. It's like there's this show that brought so many talented people together…surely there must be a way to maintain a nice sizeable following for all you guys into the future. :D

Honestly, I have to say the best part of the brony fandom for me has been the common subject matter that made it possible for so many incredibly talented artists such as yourself to come together in the same place to make music (or art, or stories...). Making pony music was a great way to gather an initial audience, but it works just as well the other way around: it's been an unparalleled way for me to find a whole bunch of artists that make music I really enjoy, regardless of the subject matter. I don't know what exactly it is about pony, but for whatever reason, it's managed to inspire some of the best music (in so many different genres) I've ever heard! Now, I'm sure there are lots of other amazing artists out there that I just haven't heard of (and actually I have found a few), but like I said, ponies and youtube just made it super easy to discover great musicians like you, Aviators, Archie, d.notive, Odyssey, 4Everfree, Synthis, and so many others that I will no doubt be listening to for years to come, and for that I am very grateful. I mean, ponies are great, and I will likely keep watching them as long as the show is around, but compared to what they've inspired and brought together, well, it just doesn't really compare :P Anyway, I'm kind of just rambling now, but I guess what I want to say is that I subscribed for the music, not the ponies, so I have nothing to do but be excited at the prospect of hearing more music from you, even if it means leaving pony behind and moving to a different channel. Personally I didn't expect you to do anything, but, well, if you feel like it's a weight, you did right :) Subbed! It's true I enjoy more content that is made as a tribute to things I'm into (like, I'm a brony, but I didn't play FNAF so I'd prefer getting a pony song instead of a FNAF song), but, you should go for the things you feel like doing, and even if I won't be able to appreciate the "extra" layer of emotion there is to a song that touches on something you love, I can still appreciate the music in itself ^^ Yeah I figured some musicians just wanted to do something else than pony music, that's alright, you don't have to dedicate your life into one single thing ^^ I vowed to dedicate my life to ponies, but that's just me XD And I'm sure some musicians who are much passionate into the show just like me would keep making pony music forever, but that's just them. It's definitely a common theme among the brony content makers (with the possible exception of the visual "traditional" art those guys are crazy) you just can't focus purely on pony things for years and years on end. This is obviously a heartfelt and well-considered vlog post and I think I owe it to you to respond in an equally well-thought-out manner; sadly, I don't think I'll quite achieve that, but here's the result of me playing a bunch of your tracks and typing some shit. Firstly, it would be wrong of me not to lead by saying "I came here for the ponies." I'm a subscriber to your channel because of songs like "Castle of Shadows" and "Pegasus Device", which I consider amongst the best this fandom has to offer. You mention that your 30k viewers often do not translate into views. Although this video may have only 2k views I would urge you to remember that the songs I mentioned above have 164k and over 1 million views respectively. (And, IMHO, if "Pegasus Device" deserves its 1M views [which it does] then "Castle of Shadows" deserves, um, about 500k at least.) You mention Aviators and The Living Tombstone as other brony musicians who have turned to producing other music. Aviators in particular is someone whose cesation of production of MLP music I have mourned. His songs (particularly those such as "One Last Letter" or "Ashes") are some of my all-time favourite tracks. (On thinking about it, Aviators and yourself have a similar style and I like your music for a lot of the same reasons.) Actually, thinking of other ex- pony musicians this is quite nice to be able to have somewhere to leave my thoughts on your departure from this scene; others have tended to fade away from ponies without really leaving a clear explaination or statement that they were doing so. I would not not succeed in attempting to conceal my hope that you do some day return to brony music. I will likely not be following you as a subscriber to your other channel (although I intend to give it a fair try) but I will remain here in case you return. I hope that you have read this comment to the end and that at least some of it has made sense. I think my TL;DR to you would be 1. Thank you for your awesome music. 2. Thank you for taking the time to explain your departure. 3. If you do return to this channel, I will be waiting with forehooves outstretched.

I really understand your point; the Brony Fandom/Music can't/won't last forever. Almost all my original songs are not Pony related. Simply because I want to become a professional guitarist (Going to study in music composition next year). I mean, going to a music producer and show him/her Pony Music (Let's say you have 100% pony music here) they won't take you personally (In my honest opinion). If you show them stuff that is related to anything else (Space, Nature, General Culture, Social Critique, etc) it'll be more legit than Pony music... No more pony?! Booh! :P Well, I couldn't help but notice that my favorite brony artists (nearly) stopped doing brony music anymore. I think Aviators was the last one among those (Mandopony and you included) that did pony music lately. And I am cool with that, it doesn't make their music any less awesome. Do what you feel makes you happy. I'll see for myself if your new content on the other channel speaks to me. :) One minor thing about the brony handicap for this channel (if I can call it this): I can see why pony past on the channel could affect the success of future uploads. Personally I wouldn't want fans who have any issues with my personal interests, even when my actual content has nothing to do with them. That's why I plan to keep a pony as icon for my new channel as well :)

Any who as I said in another post it's like trees falling in the woods man it simply allows new artists to rise and take their place and I remember some one else saying something like all there favorite artists left and I find it funny that basically all of mine are still here scratch (tomb and slyph) of course but other than that there almost all still around try digging past the main names and you'll find em and most even if they do leave stay in the fandom (again tomb).

Derp Hoof Well, my post was in many ways meant to be just funny and definitely not offended. I support my favorite artists to (almost) every ground they attempt to conquer. Regarding Mando, he is in a similar position as Slyph, Avi or Tomb. While they sure are still fans of the show or are still with bronies they moved on to other places. Examples of artists who are still deep into making music for the brony fandom are OhPonyBoy or Blackgryph0n and Michelle. Comparing those two groups it's obvious how the focus of each group changed regarding music.
