Love it when a plan doesn’t come together, then does LOL I won’t be building this chair, but I did pick up a few clever techniques, ie, using a key to install hook! Hello to Sawyer 🦴 Be well!

All weight is supported by the central cable top to down like classic cable. Others cable prevent from rotating only and for illusion but aren't part of weight supporting

Looks awesome, how does it go if someone heavier sits on it? Do you have to adjust the tension up if your having some larger friends round? How much strain is on the base? I'm thinking maybe use some 30-60mm clear acrylic/Perspex for the base.
@AceWoodCo4 жыл бұрын
I think I would have stronger rated cables, these aircraft cables were rated for 185 and I’m 185 lbs on a good day haha i think if you got heavy enough duty wires and tensioners it’d work even better and you probably wouldn’t have to adjust the tension for heavier friends That actually is a great idea on the Perspex. That would legit make it look like a floating chair 👍!

Phrasing...haha Looks great! How long did it take to fine tune all of the lengths correctly?
@AceWoodCo3 жыл бұрын
haha it took a while definitely lots of trial and error, was fun to mess around with though!

Reminder with only one length in the center that will be the week point. The first sit in a new chair is always kinda scary lol.

Haha yeah it’s always a bit nerve wracking for the first sit 😅

Super design! ...but i think, for daily use this wood is way too soft. Also do not dont screw screws on the frontside of wood. But: Super Design!

How about using metal chains, not just some hook? Surely it will support your weight.

Use a key... Wtf is wrong with you, you showed exactly what to use the next frame, a key will break, use another hook or an eye bolt chucked up in a drill...
