He has game awareness. No acrobatic show offs. He actually knows where to palm the ball off to, to either a fellow team mate or to safety while making the save at the same time. Absolute intelligence.

Awareness takes him to the next level, especially when it comes to where the ball ends up. Compare with Kelleher (an immensely talented young keeper) who has the basic physical skills, but in the last 6-7 games, I have seen 2 of his pretty decent punch clearances end up at the feet of an attacking player who put it in the net. Becker has had maybe 2 of his punches put right into goal in the last 3 years.

What he is doing this season is just unforgettable. I noticed a thing,, commentators makes the saves of De gea or Mendy more world class by their speech. But this really doesn’t happen to Alisson. He doesn’t get much appreciation. But he deserves it.

One controversial pen call in favor of Jota against CP, and the punditsphere has a complete meltdown about a "lack of standards" with endless emotionalism. I did not agree with the call, but it is not even in the running for one of the worst 5 referee decisions in the last month. It did not even affect the result, unlike a number of other dodgy calls we have seen recently. This one was ONLY worth talking about because it was in Liverpool's favor. "This is Liverpool. While most other "world class" goalkeepers dive around like lunatics making acrobatic saves because half the time they are out of position, Alisson reads the game better and gets into the right position to make simpler saves. That's not saying he can't make those acrobatic ones, it's just that he doesn't have to do it as much as other goalkeepers. Also, he has excellent feet and brilliant vision to pick out his strikers with kicks from his own area.
