I'm usually the first person to say, "Take care of those warrants and you wouldn't be sitting in the back of a police car." But this guy looked like he was trying to live a normal life and an old warrant came back to haunt him. I actually felt sorry for this guy!

He can get out of the system pretty easily if he'd prioritze things. He can easily go in front of a judge and show that he sold his expensive sports car and his expensive rims to help pay his fines. But he hasn't done that.

Officer Langley should of used His PA system to educate the driver and let him know to always pull over to the right shoulder, NOT to the left shoulder, that just jeopardizes both their lives.

The man is just trying to go to work so he can support himself and this happens. Expired tags never hurt anyone, it's 100% victimless. This was hurting anyone or damaging property, he wasn't doing anything to deserve getting his car impounded and hauled off to jail. I don't know why anyone would want to be a cop? Just so you can ruin someone's life for harmless bullshit.

Are you serious? This is a grown man that has to call his momma to bail him out is all you need to know. He needs to be responsible and handle his business the RIGHT way. The right way is addressing the problem and paying the necessary fines and penalties for speeding or show up to court to fight the ticket and plead his case. Responsible citizens work AND pay their Registration fees, why can't he?

Yes I kinda agree he should have been sent free with a warning go take care of your business. He went to jail because he had a warrant . But yes paying for your tags does help fix pot holes and things.

By law, the driver was doing nothing wrong that would have warranted the need to run the tags on the car. Therefore in court of law could be classified as an illegal stop.

As context, I was a middle aged guy driving a nice Cadillac through Hunter Mountain, NY. I was stopped on a BS charge, because they thought since it was the main route of drugs coming into the state from NYC, I must be guilty. They illegally searched my car. Found nothing, and tried to justify the stop because I had a license plate light out. NYS has reflective plates which makes that claim null and void.

As further context. The Officer passed me in a 30 mile speed zone in the opposite direction., but I was back at a 55 mile speed area when he caught up to me. He raced upon me, and then flashed his head lights, and was pissed because I kept going. He then put on the cherry, and I abruptly pulled over. He was pissed because I didn't do it when he high beamed me. That is a tactic used in NYC to make you think they are cops, and then hijack your vehicle. When I appealed the case to my local SPD, they fired the officer.

It will not be classified as an illegal stop. Cops can run your license plate just to run them. 9 times out of 10 if a cop is behind you they’ve run your tags and everyone around you as well. That’s not illegal. The reason for the stop is that his tags were expired which the trooper doesn’t even have to run because in the upper right corner is the sticker for your tag. Ours are color coded in Arkansas and are yellow stickers in 2022. Therefore he pulled him over for expired tags and ran his plate which showed a warrant
