+Quiznatodd Bidness The show wouldn't be interesting if no one reacted to the jokes, would it? Not liking pranks doesn't make you a bad person. Pranks would only be funny if they came from friends/family. I probably wouldn't react too well to strangers trying to prank me. But it's stuff like that that makes the show funny. You don't know how you'd react to any of that stuff irl.

JACKANDJAY10 Oh get over yourself with your bullshit.... "Oh! Look at these stupid Americans! They don't even get their own humor!". Instead of trying to be a know it all, take into account that these people are expecting serious presentations. I do agree, some people do get angry. Conversely, their is no universal kind of comedy. Most people or "Americans" in this case would consider this stupidity rather than comedy.

Be it in the form of paintings & sculptures. How many men pose for body building competitions? Are they zoo animals? Or is it just the black men that illicit this response from you? Because if thats the case you have some thinking to do...

@Steve Gardner Exactly. The true meaning of Art in all of it's forms is about challenging the Norm, what's expected, the Social Construct's, anything that's considered Taboo & the Status Quo. I think this is rather genius as an Artist myself. And I actually think that Black guy is an interesting & deep social & spiritual metaphor. He's a perfectly beautiful, reasonable & fine man yet a huge deal is made about the way he's displayed because it's Taboo & because people who regard themselves highly are prone to jumping to conclusions. Instead of using their mind productively & thinking about it a lil bit while laughing it off like some of the True Artists in that crowd were. I'd say that piece of the black brother was the best & most bold & challenging one in this Showcase. I really like it & don't think it's plain Racist at all. I think it's just something that makes you think & contemplate. Such as when Little Brother named their album the Minstrel Show and used it as a concept to display Black Culture in a positive & faithful light & many took offense at it. Sorry if I'm going on a bit too much.

It was the point they realized it wasn't a real art show. And became overwhelmed with feelings of wasting time over the 'Jokers' silliness. Or something along those lines. Images of what might have been if different choices were made regarding leisure activities to pursue.

@@Riddickisawesome101 Exactly. It shows complete & utter weakness in your Character. And a lack of acceptance for your skin color. The brother in the hat stayed cause he aint like that & he's evolved from the Social construct.

More than the way they make each other sweat, I enjoy how they piss people off...people who take life too seriously and freeze up in shock when someone challenges the norm of what they perceive their perfect little universes to be. Watching their helpless, appalled faces is hilarious to me.

Modern progressive art is about strong reactions and impact. The way they exposed some of our society's biggest problems by highlighting the exact opposite of people's expectations is astonishing. This is a masterpiece!

How you could have bluffed each of the art pieces: The "countdown until legal" timer: "This is my adopted sister. She's years younger than me, and has always been a symbol of youth an innocence in my life. It's moving for me to see her reach adulthood, and scary too. This countdown is a reminder for all of us that time marches on, and we need to always make the most of what time we have." The mannequin wearing the blankie: "The title "Me Myself and I" has to encompass the good and the bad. I hope that you can all appreciate that this is a vulnerable image for me. I'm young, mostly naked, and wearing a blanket my grandmother made for me. Needless to say, I'm embarrassed by this image, but it's still me, hence it's conclusion in the art." The glistening black man: "For my final piece, I present the complete polar opposite of me. I am white, clothed and skinny, while this gentleman is black, nude and has large muscles. Perhaps it's a reflection of what I could never be, contrasting the previous piece I presented."

The "countdown to legal" one and the way Murr framed it is actually rather good as an art piece. Shows how society puts strict cookie-cutter limits on something that is not easily defined. The last one could have been spun in a good way too but I'm not sure how. I guess by trying to compare the true human form to something sculpted, or an example comparing handmade beauty to the beauty of nature.
