I would've sold this as a basic model demonstrating what the actual thing would look like. As for the purpose, I would say there are sensors inside that can sense things like tyre temperature, tread wear, average rpm, pressure, distance etc, that can be accessed after the drive

Since watching this for the first time years ago, I realised what if Murr explained that the USB could have data about the tire itself, like pressure, traction, how much wear etc. but when he connects it he realises it was the wrong USB 😂. But thinking of that on the spot is of course difficult and it took me a few years of quiet ruminating to come up with that.
