Impression of my Can AM RT Limited after 400 miles

I purchased a demo 2021 Limited. Along with 11 Harley friends took it on a 4500 mile trip in Aug. the trike didn’t miss a beat. No issues whatsoever. I’m a master bike builder and Harley guy but do to physical impairments I now have I can no longer ride a traditional motorcycle. Other than it sounding like a sewing machine I absolutely love it. I popped for a $1750.00 exhaust system right away. Now it sounds like a sewing machine on steroids. As to the “lean” you can still throw your weight into turns and lean somewhat. Going through all the twists and turns of the Ozark mountains was a total blast. The Harleys couldn’t shake me. I loved riding snowmobiles in the past and this is so reminisce of that. Although if you just want a smooth easy going ride it’s also perfect. The storage is great. I bought a panel to replace the rear trunk just for tooling around town and still it has had enough to be a grocery getter. Simply looks much better to me without the trunk. Like I said I built many custom bikes and appearance matters. There are lots of add on goodies from Sling Mods. I really didn’t care much for the wheels so I replaced them as well. I added a neon green ( bike is blue) pin strip along the lower body line. That really made it pop in my opinion. The trike isn’t something that really screams WOW! However it’s still an attention getter everywhere I go. Bottom line anyone reading this and considering buying one I’d have to recommend it 100%. Good luck, Brother. Sounds as if you are poised to have some big fun out there. I've just started looking at these machines as a way to get back to riding. I rode a Honda Goldwing for many years, and I miss being out on the highway. I love the journey. Take care; be safe - thanks for posting.

Just ordered one just like yours. Color, armrest and driver backrest. I do will feel better having 3 wheels and so will my wife. It is a big difference over 2 but it was time. My wife and I take big road trips and enjoy riding. Thanks for the info. Your video's help me with this big decision.

Coming up on a year later- thinking about doing a new video a year into the drive? We put some money down for a 2022 (Grey RTL) and cannot wait! If you do another video- think about adding some mods you've done, and if they were worth it! Loved the video- would love to see more from you.

Had mine just over two weeks, have 350 miles. I love it. We have a Tri Glide and I think this is a much better ride.

I have the 2015 F3 and love it. So far it has 30k miles and it’s very reliable. Biggest ride so far was 1250 miles over the weekend riding 2 up

A fair initial assessment. I have had mine since March and have done nearly 11000 Km. What I can say is that it will just keep on getting better the more you use it. 10.5K of those have been two up. Everything clicked after about 1500km and that's when the fun really started.

I have a 21 RT Limited with those Passenger Arm rest and HATE them! I am trying to figure out how to remove them. Try to figure out how to remove the panels to get to the bolts/screws that hold them on. Just our NY weather is changing and getting cold to work in the garage on the bike, but I will get it and install my new arm rests on her.

I took the demo ride from Can AM. I found out it drives more like an ATV 4 wheeler than a motorcycle. Almost everything you learned riding a motorcycle, toss it out. No counter steer or leaning. Only the driver & rider leans into a curve. Still I liked it and will probably get one, someday. Your bike looks good.

The armrest came with the RT Limited. I asked the dealer to install it when I purchased it.

Sebastian as far as making it louder if you’re talking about the music you can put the volume settings on auto and the volume will increase with your throttle and decrease when you slow to a stop

Good assessment Sebastion. I see you have the passenger arm rests, I had the BRP arm rests installed, now i find the recall kit from BRP for the rear panel fit will not work. i hear that BRP is working on a fix, but who knows for sure. I love the machine but really disappointed in the fit and finish of the real panels with the arm rests, BRP non response, and my dealer's attitude about my 20 RTL problem.

please explain to me about the arm rest I just purchased 2022 rt limited and want to put on BRP arm rest as oppose to other options simply because they mount to the bike and not the luggage box .

I just got a 2018 chrome unlimited. I just getting use to it. Not sure how to handle curves at a higher speed. Do I lean into it or away. I tried different ways it feels wired. I come from driving a motorcycle. I am getting older and I dont want to worry of droping it, that’s why I got this one. I looking for going on longer trips, as well.

Thanks for your videos. Recently sold my beautiful VTX 1300s that I traveled across the country both east to west and north to south. My wife never liked to ride, so I am thinking the RT limited might be a good option. Like you, I am getting older and the three wheel seems like a good option. I’m not impressed with the rear wheel trikes.

Hi Sebastian, we have a 2021 RT Limited on order. We purchased the armrest like you. It looks like the armrest mounted are in the way of the rear controls and the ability to hold the heated hand grips?? Are the armrest easily removable? Thanks for the review.

Hi Scott, congrats on your new Can AM. I have not tried to remove the armrest, but it does open up a bit allowing access to the controls. I hope that helps.

Our 2020 RT has 200 and we enjoy it very much too! Do you happen to hear a whining noise at certain RPM ranges too? I didn't know if it goes away during the break-in period.

Actually, the only sound that I heard was related to my braking events. I spoke to dealer about it and found out it was a non issue.

If you ride a lot the loud exhaust will start to annoy you. I wear ear plugs with any bike and it’s less wear on your mind. Wind therapy is the best! Enjoy

I’m very surprised you think it’s too loud. I’m a Harley guy and have built many show winning custom bikes. To me personally the sound of a V twin is awesome . Even after popping for a $1750 exhaust it’s still too quiet in my opinion. The trike will never sound like a Harley and I knew that from the git go. Although I can certainly appreciate your opinion. Most Harley riders do say “ Loud pipes save lives “ though. Not to say this doesn’t sound good too, just totally different. The sound is somewhat like a Ferrari or similar type car. As with anything likes vary. That’s why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream 😂

I’m thinking of getting one but I definitely want the passenger arm rests but I hear very mixed reviews , such as the positioning of them and comfort , are there any other after market armrests that another company makes ? Or have they improved on there own since
