The W-40 tractors are still impressive! The WA & WK-40 were powered by an inline 6 engine which gave then a "modern" exhaust sound. The diesel version, the WD-40, had a huge 4 cylinder engine the same capacity as the later TD-14 crawler. It was, capacity wise, the biggest Standard Tread IH ever made!😊

The industrial versions of the W-40 (wheatland tractor)were the IA-40, IK-40 (kerosene) and the ID-40 diesel. Rare tractors then and even more so nowadays. The 1930s "40" tractor range had no directly related "Farmall" (row crop) model and many Farmall enthusiasts are unaware of them.
