This mod is so close to being genuinely perfect. It just needs the Pac-man specific particles, like dots and the grab, to get changed to something more Mario 64, like coins or parts of the chomp’s chain.

THIS is how you creatively reskin a character! This mod takes full advantage of being a fan-made creation (Like with having King Bob-Omb transform into a Chain Chomp for certain moves.), while taking care not to push things too far past the point of believability. The amount of references they squeezed into stuff like his neutral special and taunt is cool enough by itself, but the developers of this mod didn't stop at simple visual updates. The little details like the Metal Box standing in for the hard hitting but slow moving Melon, and all of his new sound effects being brought straight over from Super Mario 64, take this skin to the next level in terms of polish. And then after all that, you still have stuff left to appreciate like how his Smash Attacks were updated to show all the different types of Bob-Ombs from Mario 64, which also conveniently suit the job of being an explosively powerful move like a Smash Attack all too well! The only, and I do mean the ONLY thing that would make this better, is if the water shot from the fire hydrant was changed to look like Bullet Bills. Otherwise, it's just perfect.

It's cool that he's equal parts King Bob-omb and Chain chomp. If the mod's meant to be a representation of BB Battlefield as a whole and not just the king, it makes sense, seeing as I'd say that the chomp is probably the second most iconic feature of the level IMO. I also get that they had to do that anyway, given Pacman's existing moveset.

I actually find King Bob-Omb to be quite an interesting character to pick for the next character to introduce in Smash 6.
