I discovered this lovely skater at 72.i watch a lot of ice skating but have never seen a man move like him on the ice.its breathtaking! Oh, they'll soften their hearts and let sentiment creep into remembering Plushenko. When it no longer matters if he got the gold or not. They'll find their honesty, they'll find their awe at what be brought to the world, when the mediocre and exploitative decide they are comfortable with recognising his genius, his gifts, that combined to make him unmatched at the time, unrivalled since. (And the changes in men's figure skating, no skater will have the chance to be like him.) Genuine renaissance man. Its hurtful to hear how he pushed himself to prove and prove and prove himself, driven to earn his triumphs, no charity required, and skating kept trying to pretend he was just one of many.
