Same ol' counter density problem. You have to move pieces from the map to see the terrain features such as small dots, completely surrounded by stacks. This game is for robots or young people.

Hi, can you show the maps and counters in lieu of showing up textbook?

Wimp.😅 Just kidding. Great overview. At 5:20 while going thru the player aids, "Weather, cuz you know, you gotta have complicated weather. Why not." Given GOSS' reputation that made me lol. 😂

Yeah, GOSS is an extremely overloaded, turgid system - not for me.

Needs a simpler set of rules

The movement and stacking rules are a couple of the worst elements to GOSS. While they read well enough, in actual play they are a nightmare. On the other hand, the combat resolution subsystem is really very good. I also agree with your assessment regarding the speed and ease with which units can entrench in the system. While I like the level of detail they've given artillery, I am a bit suspicious that arty is too powerful in the system. I need some more hands on experience with it to confirm or deny those suspicions, so maybe 2025 will be the year I finalize my opinion on this system.

Yes thanks for another great vid, I so have wanted to play this game and series . But feel the rules are like gaming star fleet battles were the rules are way to big to game and the game gets too wonky

Yes, the rules are complicated. Or involved perhaps.

The SFB rules are MUCh better than GOSS, especially the earlier GOSS games. The series rule book that came with Lucky Forward shows improvement, but there's still work to be done to make the system really good. It's a real shame GOSS is so underdeveloped, as I think it has some interesting concepts and mechanics, and does have some promise, but it is currently too clunky and fiddly, with some questionable decisions having been made with regards to various rules.
