IMPRESSIVE VR HAND TRACKING! | Blocks (Oculus Rift DK2 + Leap Motion Orion)

I am trying out Leap Motion's new VR hand tracking software with the Oculus Rift. It's was a blast!
Orion introduces faster tracking that has lower latency. It now also tracks your hands on higher angles and when the sensor can't see your fingers. Last but not least it seperates the hand from cluttered backgrounds and tracks in varied light conditions. developer.leapmotion.com/orion

That is so cool, but in the end when you turn off gravity again there i a bug because for the computer guy gravity is still on and blocks he made keept falling on ground.. But other then that it's pretty awesome!

+freestylexgp Those use controllers, whereas this just uses your hands. Kinect has had basic body/skeleton tracking, but markerless hand tracking this advanced and accurate is pretty cutting-edge, especially for such a small VR-mountable device.

Mage Enderman Just because eyetoy is the predecessor to the other motion control peripherals doesn't mean it's not relevant. I never used kinect because like this, albeit to a lesser extent, it did not look that good to me compared to the type of VR I would want to use. Seems these things are still in their infancy and while it may impress a bunch of people who don't even usually play games I've seen similar things done in the past.

***** Eh idk about the analogy you're talking about there's no way the gap is that huge. Yeah it's the evolution of those concepts but is it advanced as you claim? Seems this just follows the natural timeline of motion control/interactivity that has been taking play for years eyetoy>wii>kinect>this "I read comments from a lot of people who've clearly never tried this stuff who are unimpressed and think it's all been done before". So others agree with me then and are equally as unimpressed. I think stuff like this has great mass appeal like it has shown but beyond that I think I'd want it to be better before I'd start caring. A lot of people are die hard fans of this because they've just been sucked into this VR hype, they invested into the company or they've been following these products with anticipation for years not me and this product certainly does not seem like 108 years of evolution upon it's predecessors.

What if they implemented this in the Oculus Touch? So while you had all the buttons and analog sticks for game playing, you have finger tracking for more precise actions, or social interaction.
